750 billion net worth while it's revenue is 103 billion :D . where is Microsoft making so much money? https://www.forbes.com/companies/microsoft/

Yes, Microsoft is part of the so called GAFAM. Its an acronym that represents of the richest companies in the world.

Google

Apple

Facebook

Amazon

Microsoft.

The richest company in the world is Apple by the way.

If we are talking about really all companies, then no. Saudi Aramco is worth much more than Apple.
Excluding state-owned companies though, you would be correct.

How is that surprising in any way?

Yeah, it always shocks me to think that Microsoft could buy exclusivity to COD, Fortnite, Madden and GTA but simply don't. I mean, really? Not even one of them? It makes no sense to me. They COULD be dominating in third party games but choose not to.

And to think Microsoft actually saved Apple.

In 1997, Microsoft invested @$150 million in Apple Inc. through  preferential non-voting convertible stock (150,000 shares), partly as  settlement to the long standing dispute between the two companies over  the copying of certain features in Windows from Mac OS.

  • Gates promised to invest approximately $150 million for shares of Apple non-voting preferred stock. Though the Mac faithful at the time were wary of Microsoft, Steve Jobs at the time famously explained that "we have to let go of this notion that for Apple to win, Microsoft has to lose."
  • The deal between the two companies was mutually beneficial from every angle. Apple got some much needed cash while Microsoft was able to keep a weakened competitor afloat, thereby alleviating concerns about the company's monopolistic power.

In order to continue to succeed they kept Apple alive. And now there 2 of the worlds biggest software giants in the world. Competition is good.

They have a cloud that rains money down on them.

Microsoft's net worth is not 750 billion. Net worth is the total assets minus liabilities.

The value of a company is subjective as well.

We are going by market cap.
Which is share price multipled by number of shares.

Sure there are other aspects to consider, especially as share prices may not always represent a companies true worth, but for a quick comparison it is sufficient.

Exactly. They could kill of Playstation if they wanted to.

Hell they could open 20 game studios also if they wanted to and make more exclusives.
