For people who say this. Do you guys really expect Microsoft to drop their top 3 games. I get people might not be big fans of these games but these are the first party games that people buy an Xbox for and they have millions of dedicated fans.

Nobody is saying releasing Halo, Gears, and Forza is a bad thing. Its when that is all you are mostly releasing...again...thats the problem. These franchises have all come out for this console generation already and its earned them a solid 3rd place. The point is they need to build upon these franchises with new experiences. Almost everything they've shown as an exclusive is a sequel, and again sequels to games that have helped earn a solid 3rd place.

They have slowed down on how many Gears and Halo games though compared to last gen. Its also been almost 3 years since the last Halo and almost 2 since the last Gears. They are due for new games. From what they showed from Forza and Gears it looked like they are adding new experiences. Forza has a shared world system now and different seasons along with a 60fps mode. Gears Tactics is an RTS and Gears has never been an RTS before. Also Gears 5 they changed how the camera works, Looks more like a regular TPS than the gameplay of Gears 1-4 which should be interesting. Can't say much for Halo since 343i did not show much.

You can thank that on two new studios making those games.

9/10 for me, best show from ms this gen.

Halo - Infinity is a spinoff series isnt it? its not a numbered mainline game.

Also you where right about the Gears Xcom type game as well, its PC only but it was shown.

Crackdown multiplayer gameplay, "I dont remember if it was gameplay or CG, forgot" -  it was just CG, no multi gameplay.

You got alot of things right though..... did you really make these predictions before E3? if so cudos to you man.

This image from the Halo trailer has it taking place 2 years after Halo 5. So it could be mainline.

Very solid conference by MS easily 7.5/10 but high 4/10 in exclusives overall. I now they need games, but really? 0 new IP, only multiplats + holy trio Halo/Gears/ Forza (which is releasing as often as CoD/Fifa/BF) very cheap move. And Halo teaser after 3 three years, only teaser?
Definitely their best E3 conference since 2013.

FH4 looked great, UK is a decent setting, really wanted Tokyo though

What is so exciting about a racing game in Tokyo (or any other big modern city)?

Driving through streets with building after building after building on both sides with minimal variety? Either unrealistic low traffic for a big city or little opportunities to drive fast (if they keep it realistic)?

I'm happy about the UK scenario.

Thanks, Yeah I meant to say correct for the Gears spinoff....

Well, all signs point at Infinite being mainline. It's 343's next big game.

Well, I sorta cheated by waiting until two hours before the conference so the leaks could come in :P

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

That was the best E3 conference I’ve ever seen Xbox give.

The Studio acquisitions announcement was impressive, with Playground being the biggest, and Ninja Theory being the most surprising, especially since they’ve gravitated toward Sony for many years. Tho they never put out a truly good game imo until Hellblade.

My favorite part of the conference, for my personal taste, was the Cuphead DLC. Can’t wait. The only other exclusive Im interested in was Gears 5. It looked pretty good, tho I’ve played the 4 mainline games and have yet to love one. :/

MS definitely had a huge 3rd party showing, and several of them were pretty big blows to Sony: e.g. KH3, DMC5, and the new FromSoftware game. And getting Cyberpunk was huge as well. All of this was another “win” for MS when it comes to the conference quality.

I gave MS’s conference an 8/10 in the poll, from an objective perspective. For my personal tastes, though, I would give it a 6-7/10, since multiplats I play on ps4, and they showed very few exclusives that interested me.

One thing’s for sure, though: Xbox is changing for the positive since Phil hit his new position. Sony definitely can’t rest on its laurels, bc I’m now confident that MS will come out guns blazing for now on, and the next Xbox is gonna be a force to be reckoned with.
