Halo, Forza and Gears will try to make what they Couldn't over the past years

Around the Network

I felt like it was good because it showed so many fans. The downside is that beyond Gears 5 I was largely unimpressed. The other highlight would be the game studios they bought. As a Playstation player they showed mostly stuff I can play on PlayStation. The point is that I still think it was good because a lot of games can get immediate exposure in this first big conference. It was good but I don't think it got me any closer to buying an Xbox.

A decent 7/10

Good new exclusive announcements:
Halo Infinite
Forza Horizon 4
Battletoads
Gears of War 5

Ori and the Will of the Wisps looks amazing. Crackdown looks better than last year, but still only okay. 5 new game studios is great. I miss some Fable 4 or another big surprise, then the conference would get a much better score. But overall good presentation, I've gone from being excited about 1 exclusive to being excited about 5. So well done Microsoft! 2018 looks awful for you though! 2019 will be a good year for Xbox fans though.

It was a solid conference. Nothing exceptional, but a lot of interesting games were shown so that helps a lot. Unfortunately, I don't think there was really anything that would make me get an Xbox One. Most of the games I'm interested in I can just play elsewhere anyway. Still, a good conference, one of their better ones in recent years.

It was a very good presentation. They've learned some lessons. Cut away the multi-plats, though, and it's still very "Forza, Gears, Halo" flavored. On a completely personal level, I'm not very interested.

However, I think we saw a lot of signs that they're going in the right direction.

I think conferences should be judged based on the situation of that console in its life-cycle, which puts more pressure on Microsoft because they are in a far trailing position. Not only do they have to showcase things that will please their current fans and console owners, they have the burden to showcase things that will attract new consumers. If you're a console owner there may be a few things you are excited about, but lets be completely honest. Nothing about this conference got non-owners excited. In my opinion as someone who owns the console I feel worse post than pre-conference. I can expect basically no new unique experience on this console. Almost all multiplatforms that won't sell best on Xbox and just more of the Halo, Gears, Forza rehashes. Where is the creativity?

i gave it 7

the games i'm most looking forward to were multiplat, Cyberpunk, Tomb Raider, DMCV, Shadows Die Twice, but it was great to see a bit more from then. No gameplay for C77 was disappointing though.

some decent acquisitions. undead labs and compulsion are very meh but Playground are great and Ninja Theory are good, could be great with more budget.

Halo Infinity announcement was underwhelming, Gears Tactics does nothing for me. Gears 5 could go either way: don't like the woman the story seems to be focused on, but hopefully the gameplay will be better and have a few more risks taken with it. or new ideas at least

FH4 looked great, UK is a decent setting, really wanted Tokyo though

it was good. in the short term it's pretty much as expected, but looking better for the future

No Fable was probably the biggest let down for me.
Miss that franchise.

Halo Infinity on the SlipSpace engine looks to be bringing some technical goods, even though some of the texturing looks a little muddy and sprite work sticks out... Got some impressive detailing and lighting for a 60fps (Assumed) game.

Sekiro, DMC5, Cyberpunk, a bunch of relevant new games.

Sadly yeah, nothing from a new big IP from MS... as always.

Sekri, DMC5, Cyberpunk ect are all multiplats though.

New announcements for xbox is like 4 games + 1 dlc.
How thats enough to get a 9/10 score is beyound me.

To me this was like a 7 outta 10.

Because they showed games we wanted to see?

Fuck this multiplat / exclusive stuff. That does not make the games better.
The conference had the perfect mix between AAA games (LOTS of them) and some really cool looking smaller games (Cuphead, session, etc)

When Sony showcases RDR 2 this week, it will improve their conference as well. Even when the best console to play it on will be the Xbox One X.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

About the new studios:

Guys, they just bought them.Any effect we will see from them, ranging from new IPs to pumping out more games from MS themselves, will only be felt in the next gen.For now, we will have to kind of endure the usual franchises.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
