Also @RolStoppable @HomokHarcos @ka-pi96 I have a question: do the 1908, 1912, 1920, 1924 and 1928 Olympics count as part of a team's winning history? Is it like the NFL where the NFL, AFL and AAFC champions pre-Super Bowl are still counted as part of the team's championships, or are they generally disregarded?

Only the 1924 and 1928 Olympics are considered official. That's why Uruguay have 4 stars on their jersey as they were considered to be the world champions for those years.

Were there really football tournaments at the Olympics in 1908, 1912 and 1920?

What I know for sure is that FIFA officially regarded the 1924 and 1928 tournaments as world championships of football before they moved to their own tournament, starting in 1930. While the football world at large counts from 1930 onwards, Uruguay does not and features their wins from 1924 and 1928 on their jerseys (teams put a star for each title on their jerseys). I don't think anybody has seriously contested Uruguay's decision or threatened legal action over all those years, hence why they still have four stars today.

So both versions co-exist at the same time. The world calls Uruguay a two-time winner of the World Cup, but Uruguay has their four stars.

FIFA sanctioned the 1908, 1912 and 1920 Olympics too, so I was wondering.

The 1924 Olympics was the first to feature teams from South America and that is why they considered 1924 to be the first true world championship.

Well, that sucks for Belgium I guess. However, I guess that makes sense as there'd then be the dilemma of who would get the UK's medals - England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland would all have been a part of the team.

I assume England as FIFA consider Russia as inheriting the Soviet Union's legacy.

Wow Canada got the gold medal for 1904 somehow.

Hmm, now I'm getting a bit more interested, specifically thinking of playing some soccer games. Unfortunately there is no 2018 World Cup game though, so maybe I can just find the 2014 one for cheap As I'm not paying out of my ass for FIFA 18 which will just become obsolete anyway (though to be fair I haven't got a FIFA game since 14 so I've already missed 15, 16, 17 and now 18).

The game on the SNK Collection is very fun.
