The last few days have been some to forget for Werder Bremen.

Not just the last few days. Werder's coach calls it "Scheiß-Saison", so plain and simply a shitty season. They set the goal to get into the Europa League befores the season started, but ongoing bad luck with injuries couldn't be compensated by the rest of the roster. Their revised goal is to avoid relegation.

Bundesliga midseason thoughts:

A very interesting season. Leipzig leads with 37 out of 51 possible points, so this is another competitive season at the top. Dortmund gifted points away throughout fall, so that's something they will have to fix if they want to play Champions League next season.

Relegation will be fun to watch as well. Köln, Düsseldorf and Paderborn could all win their last game before hibernation, so rank 11-18 are within 8 points. Of course Paderborn is still a bit in the hole, but they aren't looking anywhere close to as hopeless as Nürnberg and Hannover looked at the same point in time last season.

Biggest surprises so far: Freiburg in the upper half within striking distance of the international spots. Frankfurt and Bremen in the bottom half; Bremen had a lot of bad luck with injuries, for Frankfurt it's the fact that they had to go through Europa League qualifiers which commonly results in that specific Bundesliga team running out of gas in December.

Arsenal has won 1 game in the last two months.

Okay, @KiigelHeart now I allow you to say you're worse than we've ever been.

Yup it's been a disaster. But I'm actually feeling pretty positive about Arteta. For the first time this season it looked like we actually had a gameplan and overall it was a good game. Arteta was let down by the quality of our players, especially forwards. Scraping points ain't that important for me anymore this season, I want to see improvement and identity.

Sounds like a long, long road back up now. Well, I'm not exactly an Arsenal fan, but hopefully y'all can at least get back to Champions League football sometime soon or something.

Could be, but then again it might be only a few new signings to make things click. Champions League is crucial of course, but I just want us to play entertaining football again :P

This team is the shit.

So Rayo Vallecano will be fined 18k euros and its stadium partially closed for 2 matches after the Rayo-Albacete incidents a few weeks ago, when the match have to be stopped due to chants from Rayo fans calling Albacete's player Roman Zozulia a nazi.

This was the first time a La Liga match is stopped due to something like this. So, homophobe or racist chants are ok, Griezmann die is ok, but calling someone a nazi is going too far.

Spoiler!
Not really surprising given that Javier Tebas, La Liga's president, belonged to a far right party in the past.

I don't know where they get the idea he's a nazi btw.
