Give it time, they'll have their downtime like last year... I hope.

My Fantasy team choices were not great. Went for a risky captain but that failed but I had Sterling and Aubameyang, so that's something. Will need to make changes already.

Hmm, pie.

It's going to be a long season for Chelsea

Bundesliga - Preview

It's been a while since Bayern Munich has been openly challenged for the title at the start of a season, but Borussia Dortmund committed to it. Of particular note was the German Supercup where double winner Bayern had to play against the #2 of the previous season, so Dortmund. The Borussia was in control of the game and won 2-0, so the hype for the new Bundesliga season increased dramatically.

As far as relegation candidates are concerned this year, Paderborn was nominated as the most probable club to get relegated. Maybe because Paderborn has occupied promotion/relegation spots for six years in a row. Promoted to 1. Bundesliga, immediately back to 2. Bundesliga, relegated to 3. Bundesliga, relegated to Regionalliga but miraculously saved and remained in the 3. Bundesliga because another club couldn't meet the financial requirements, promoted to 2. Bundesliga, promoted to 1. Bundesliga.

Bundesliga - Matchday 1

Bayern 2-2 Hertha
Dortmund 5-1 Augsburg
Leverkusen 3-2 Paderborn
Wolfsburg 2-1 Köln
Bremen 1-3 Düsseldorf
Freiburg 3-0 Mainz
Gladbach 0-0 Schalke
Frankfurt 1-0 Hoffenheim
Union 0-4 Leipzig

Hertha had a little luck to go up 2-1 in the first half, but not enough drive to go for a third goal after the break; a video review granted Bayern a penalty kick for the equalizer. Dortmund conceded their first goal of the season after only 31 seconds, but utterly dominated the rest of the way to become the first leader of the new Bundesliga season. Paderborn put up a real fight in Leverkusen and didn't look like a team primed for relegation at all. The same can't be said about Köln who deservedly lost in Wolfsburg. Bremen got surprised by a highly efficient Düsseldorf.

Freiburg vs. Mainz has a clear scoreline, but all three goals happened after the 80th minute. The designated game of the week between Gladbach and Schalke ended scoreless. Frankfurt's golden goal was scored in the first minute of the game. Union Berlin's debut in the 1. Bundesliga was more than just disappointing, already down 0-3 at halftime.

Highlights of matchday 2: Hoffenheim vs. Bremen, Schalke vs. Bayern and Leipzig vs. Frankfurt.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Thread died a bit, title needs a change too.

Bury FC are no more. Bolton are looking to follow soon. Bad time to be north of Manchester it seems. Bolton's Prem success ruined them as wages were no doubt too high for the leagues they were in while Bury were just poorly run. Even promotion couldn't save them.

It's odd to think that the monthly wage of some players in the prem would save Bury completely.

Damn it'll be a shame to see Bolton disappear they were a pivotal fixture when they were in the epl. They had quite a sharp team as well with players like Okocha, Djorkaeff (spelling?), Ivan Campo etc...

They were the bane of the top half teams with Arsenal being their favourite opponents and this was the invincibles era Arsenal mind you. Hard tackling, direct but with some flair especially when Okocha was on the ball.

Bolton have been saved, have they not?

Yes, I posted before I knew. It's still got a lot of work though, time to shift some expensive player wages, get people into the ground etc.

Hmm, pie.

Meh.. first NLD of the season and feels like a loss. Stupid mistakes cost us again. Still not sure what our game plan is, that's worrying.

Should've won.

God my Fantasy team is doing so bad. I made good changes by my defence are ruining things for me. No one is keep clean sheets.

Good result for Saints, we played well. Need a couple of decent wins against mid table clubs now to settle us in.

Hmm, pie.
