1. Today was the first time that two Englishmen score in one Champions League match for Chelsea since 2012 against Napoli.
2. Chelsea faced a Portuguese team in the quarter-finals in 2012 as well, Benfica.
3. England defeated San Marino 5-0 both in 2012 and 2021.
4. 2012 can be changed to 2021.

Admit it, the Orejona is coming to London this year.

I think he/she is referring to the fact that the Champions League trophy has handles that look like two human ears.

Orejona = eared

Ah, right. It's sometimes referred to as the big eared trophy in English too.

Chelsea winning it certainly isn't impossible, but I think they'll struggle vs Real in the next round so I'd be surprised if they're even in the final.

You don't think there's a good chance that Liverpool defeats Real Madrid next week? 2-0 seems like a very easy score for the Reds.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Having to win any game 2-0 is hardly an impossible task, but we've been playing like shit for a very long time now, so it does become hard to believe. I do think it's funny how Ka-pi is taking it for granted, but I can't blame him. I had more faith in overturning the 0-3 against Barcelona than this.

I don't know, it's not like Real Madrid are playing like a super stellar team either. I think Liverpool's chances to advance are still very fat, if you ask me. Porto is the one that has a very rough scenario, but you never know.

Good game between Bayern and PSG. PSG managed to do what they couldn't last year and beat them. There's only 1 goal in it though so the 2nd leg should be interesting for sure. Pretty crazy to see snow during a game in April too!

An expected result for Chelsea, they should get through the semis quite easily. Pretty funny that they had one of the toughest teams in the competition in the 1st knockout round and then a relatively easy match up in the quarters. Can't really see them beating Real in the semis, but they did knockout Atletico so you never know.

That’s a really weak assessment of what happened on Wednesday’s match. Porto played much better than Chelsea and the stats prove it. Chelsea converted the 2 goal opportunities they had but could’ve come out of that match losing it. Porto choked Chelsea midfield and took the strikers off the game. It was a much harder game for Chelsea. Mendy had a busy night.

What a disappointing match from Liverpool, they had the game on their hands, and they barely did any real push at the end, they continued to rely on short touches, which of course it's not going to bring you anywhere if it didn't work in the first 80 minutes. Real Madrid did a good defensive job, but I think Liverpool could've pierced it, and I think it was mistake to sub Firmino.

Conversely, I'm really excited that my two favorite European clubs (Chelsea and Madrid) are going to face each other in a couple of official matches for the first time, in a late Champions League stage, no less. To me, this is the final, I can't fucking wait.

So the 4 Champions League semi-finalists are Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Just cancel football already

You know it's a shit semi final line up when Real are the least objectionable side left.

I was 4 days early

Indeed. Never felt as disgusted by the club I support before. I hope we're hit hard by UEFA.. fuck this shit.

Is anyone actually interested in European competitions? I don't even like being in them when saints makes it. It's pointless, takes up resources and time we could be spending on trying to get a good place in the prem or winning the FA cup.

"Big clubs." Aka the richest. 2 of the 'big 6 in England' aren't even in our top 6 right now (or for most the season). 1 hasn't won anything in over a decade. And they want to break away to a super league no one wants? All about TV rights and greed.

Man City are only a 'big club' because of money in the last decade and a half.

I say let them go, ban them from all other competitions including the players from international competitions.

Hmm, pie.

Money ruined footy years ago. This proposal is a load of shite, but I do find it hilarious that UEFA, the FA etc are all kicking off when they've been complicit in allowing this to fester and grow for a long time. It was inevitable this sort of thing was going to happen. Now that they'll be losing out, they're up in arms. If they were getting a wedge, they wouldn't care.

Firstly, full credit to Bayern, Dortmund and PSG for rejecting it.

As I understand it, the PSG president is involved with beIN Sports, who have some sort of Champions League TV rights deal. It's within his financial interest for the CL not to be undermined. I imagine PSG would be on board if this wasn't the case.
