Which one is better ?

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 50 81.97%

Xenoblade Chronicles X 11 18.03%

Total:61

Hello everyone i need you to help me make a decision, so i have been on the fence whether to buy this game or not for a long time i heard some frustrating things about it that prevented me from buying it but i love me some JRPG so yeahh... i also loved the first Xenoblade for the Wii although i never finished it i got far and thought it was excellent amazing soundtrack as well which is always a BIG plus in my book (never played Xenoblade X btw)

So can someone please tell me how is this game compared to the first one ? is it really that frustrating ? I know it's not as good as the first one evident by the reception and reviews but if it at least offers a similar experience it's worth a buy for me.  How is the story, music, gameplay, characters compared to the first Xenoblade ? HELP ME OUT!!

UPDATE!! FIRST IMPRESSION!

So i just finished chapter one and i'm impressed glad i bought the game! The graphics are awesome i love the look of the game, the soundtrack is really good so far too and the story is interesting. I also enjoyed the combat and like the characters a lot.. also the performance the one thing i was worried the most seems really solid so far i hope it's not gonna get bad later (played in docked mode)

However the one thing i don't like is the voice acting more specifically the accents and the delivery of the lines ugh.Not all of them are bad but overall the english voice acting seems very dull and low in quallity.

I fully recommend it, it's probably 2nd favourite Switch game after Zelda. My only frustration with the game is the sub par map which can get confusing, but all the great stuff this game has easily outweigh that. The combat system is very deep when you start figuring out elemental combos and the use of break, topple, smash. It has beautiful locations to explore and plenty of grinding which is par for the course with a JRPG.

Please, please buy Xenoblade 2. You will not regret it. I've played X as well, but it's no XC2. Not in story or gameplay. It's really got more of a WRPG feel to it than anything and the first city theme will make you put a gun to your head.

The music in XC2 is simply amazing. Compared to the first one, I think it outdoes it, if only by a little. The characters are endearing, tons of great sidequests, the main story is well done, gameplay is simple to use, and only somewhat difficult to master.

To put it into perspective for me, I only beat Xenoblade X a couple years after it released. But when I got Xenoblade 2 I played it every day, for hours as it came out during the holiday break. I could not stop playing it. It really is one of the best JRPGS I've ever played, and you probably think I may be overhyping it...and that may be true depending on what you want in a JRPG, but I can honestly say this game is not something any JRPG fan should miss. It's made with exceptional quality and has kept me entertained for hundreds of hours.

If story is your main thing, compared to the first I think it's just about equal if not just a tad bit above. I don't think they'll make a cast of characters as charismatic as Shulk, Reyn, Dunban, etc. but these come really damn close. And again, I can't speak highly enough of the music, your ears will cry, man! I mean, you're not getting Yoko Shimomura but you're getting Yasunori Mitsuda  and ACE, which is great. At this point it sounds like I'm rambling, so.. .     B . U . Y     I . T.

I'm following. I'm also on the fence about the game. I liked X, but am not a huge fan of JRPGs in general. I'll be traveling a bit over the summer, so I'm looking for a Switch game or two to keep my busy while I'm out of town.

Xenoblade X and Xenoblade 2 are very very different in what they try to accomplish. If it weren't for the Xenoblade in their names no one would really think they belong in the same series. So you can play them in whatever order you want. Anyway since this about Xenoblade 2.

I loved the game. I have played a good amount of JRPGs. I like the 2nd Xenoblade more than the 1st one. Honestly seeing that you are a big Persona 5 fan (Assuming). You have a much greater chance of liking it than most people. It is a must-have if you love JRPGs. When I played it I thought I was playing a modern SNES era JRPG honestly. Only the story was told in cutscenes, not in text.

Anyway, it is my 2nd favorite Switch game after Zelda. I also recommend finishing Xenoblade 1 for reasons you will understand when you beat both games.

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Anyway listened to the soundtracks i don't know wth is happening in XCX one but i loved the one from XC2.. remember Colony 9 night from XC1 ? that one was magical.

I thought the character design was trash and that the gameplay looked clunky from the trailers so I planned on skipping it. I ended up buying it and loved it. The story is incredible and you genuinely care for the characters. The game gets cumbersome because there are a ton of mechanics, but when you get the hang of them in the latter half of the game, it just gets even more fun.

Thanks for the help man it's definitely sounding more and more like i should buy the game.

You assumed right ! ;) loved and finished P5 and kinda hopping Atlus releases the whole collection persona games.. unfortunately i can't finish the first Xenoblade because i don't have a Wii anymore i hated the controls on that console.

One last thing how is the performance in the game ? heard it was bad ?

Haha, yeah I do get pretty hyped up over JRPGs.

I saw that you're concerned about the handheld visuals, and no they haven't patched it. I, personally only played handheld when I needed to but for the most part I played on my TV. It does get pretty bad at times in handheld mode, more so in the larger areas, but still this should and really does not detract from the overall experience. Don't let this deter you! It's a beauty in docked mode though.

I also see you have a Persona 5 avatar, and XC2 is more up that alley than X. X is like I said, more of a western RPG with bits of JRPG flare which is nice, but trust me you'll want this one.

Colony 9's music was God tier! But yeah, if you loved the music sample from Xenoblade 2, you will LOVE the rest of the soundtrack. It really is a gem and I don't want to spoil the other soundtracks for you, they're really that good. I mean, really good. The battle theme will always hype you up. And the best thing about the game...when you finish it, there's even more main story content coming. I'll just shutup now. Go buy the game,
