I mean syphoon filter FPS stealth game would be amazing too. or resistance.

FPS Syphon Filter?! NO THANKS.  They should keep it in 3rd person.

whats wrong with a stealth FPS like deus ex or a similar style to dishonored?

i personally take that over 3rd person

Around the Network

Sony should be opening at least 2 more major studios for next gen to keep up with protracted development time.

I don't really want Sony to have a studio just to make an FPS.
I want studios to be able to do what they want. Otherwise we wouldn't have gotten Horizon this gen.

Totally agree. I want more studios, butt they decide the work they'll do.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

If I was the big boss of Sony I would buy From Software and Square Enix.

Though you could argue that I'm reacting more as a gamer than a CEO but one could wonder if these two are really that much incompatible?

Sony got the adventure genre down no doubt. but we don't really have a source of FPS games (stuff like resistance should be made inhouse). or arcade racers.

with SIE kodera saying there will be more exclusives what do you guys think? will we see Sony acquire more studios. yes they are definitely pushing out the most exclusives atm. but diversity is lacking imo. again not limited to them but this is my subject for today.

should they work with 3rd party devs. especially japanese devs for those?.

idk if GG should go back to fps games. probably should stick to open world games after HZD.  but idk I might be biased but I love single player shooters that are as good as resistance it was easily my favorite camapign shooter trilogy last gen. and I do like the bethesda shooters just not nearly as much

I do find it strange that Sony never developed a top-tier FPS franchise.  Considering how good their recent first-party offerings have been, I'd certainly support any efforts made to expand the range of those offerings.

With that said, if you want a bigtime FPS, I'd think you'd turn to a western (North American, really) developer, as that's where all of the big ones come from.  There's probably no reason that it has to be that way, as great games can be made anywhere.  But, the reality is that the FPS talent seems to be mostly outside of Japan.
