Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best Buy ending Gamer's Club Unlocked.

This is a pretty big deal for me, because with the points system, I was able to get 30% off all games. This turned what would have normally been a $63.60 video game purchase into a $44.43 purchase.

Luckily memberships that are still active will get discounts like normal until your 2 year membership runs out. So this means, I'll still be able to get good discounts until November 2019.

Hopefully, Bestbuy just winds up replacing the program with something else. Otherwise Amazon will eat all their game sales.

Well in Canada, Amazon was only convering 10% of the cost for pre-orders after a recent change in policy. Which ain't enough to even pay the tax fees, lol.

Back to the old ways of EB Games for now !

What's EB Games offer for discounts? I feel lucky that here in America there isn't some BS import tax or V.A.T. on games. Some places have it rough.

Amazon and Best Buy announced a team-up back in April. While they only advertise it as a team-up for TV's, I think its going beyond that, as evident of the ending of GCU

Well now that's dead, I expect Amazon to follow suit soon. Let me start pre ordering everything I can, I guess.

Fortunately, my GCU sub lasts until November 2019, but this is a huge disappointment. I wouldn't have mind if Best Buy upped the subscription fee if costs were their concern. I know that they are changing up their store designs and business model, but I hope that they will at least provide something in GCU's place even if it isn't as good. Amazon Prime has gotten worse for video games, so I'm not willing to go back there.
