Forums - Gaming Discussion - H1Z1 Draws Over 1.5 Million Players with the Launch on PS4

Developer and publisher Daybreak Games has announced that H1Z1 has reached over 1.5 million players with the launch of the game’s PS4 open beta, which debuted on May 22nd, 2018. Having drawn over a million and a half players in just a 24-hour period, the news is definitely encouraging for the title, and especially in a genre that is seeing a surge in popularity like the battle royale genre.

Imo pubg major fooked up. Fortnite and this FTP. I can see a lot of people opting out of buying pubg when it eventually releases. But if it came out last holiday it would of had a great start.

Fucking finally! They really have to get their priorities in check if it took them this long to do a console port ...

Same with Bohemia Interactive on DayZ ...

We've had games before in development hell but I never thought we'd see the day where ports are in development hell too ...

I am sure it was the great mistake for PUBG's developers - be timed exclusive for Xbox. When they finally will released on PS4, peak of their popularity will over. Just like Gwent.

Hmm it's free to play? Guess I'll give it a try.

Yeah it's free like fortnite. Still in beta. Like a mode arcadey version of pubg.

PUBG bet on Xbox.... and lost.

How many sales did they lose by not launching day and date on PS4 as well?
Now its too late, H1Z1 + Forenite are gonna eat it for breakfast.
Plus Call of Duty this year, its done for PUBG.

lol, PUBG is still going to sell millions when it launches on PS4. Blame Sony and their lackluster early access program, assuming they even have one yet. Has anything besides Ark launches in early access on PS4? Just curious. It’s no surprise they went with MS, it makes good business sense for them. Same with Darwin Project. Same as all the indies that struck deals with PS4 when the gen started, MS made it very easy with their shitty indie policies.

I’ve had this downloaded on my PC for awhile but never got around to trying it. Maybe I’ll give the PS4 beta a whirl.

While it may be passed its peak by then, I think it can still do very high numbers on the PS4, enough for them to be satisfied with the sales.

Poor pugb developers... they still haven't figure out how to run the game at 30fps on consoles which explain why the game hasn't gone out of game previews. fortnite and h1z1 are filling the need of a battle royale game for ps gamers and at 60fps.

Honestly dont think so.
H1z1 + CoD + Forenite ate up that market, its too late now for PUBG (on ps4) (it ll never get a good install base on ps4).

PUBG shot themselves in the foot, and loss out on tons of extra sales by being exclusive to xbox.
When it finally does come to PS4, no one will care about it.
