Whilst I'll be watching Deadpool 2, I hope you'll still enjoy it :p

First time watching it?  I watched it last weekend.  I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.  I liked the first one, even though they ruined a lot of the best jokes by having them in the trailers.  I just didn't think they could deliver a solid sequel, but I was wrong.

Does it also bother you that Deadpool is pansexual?

I liked TLJ, and I hope to like Solo when I see it tomorrow. I am very much enjoying all of the Star Wars movies in the Disney era.

Having said that, I do think Star Wars is becoming overshadowed by Marvel at this point. The Lucas movies of the late 70's - early 80's really were the biggest movies ever made (especially when taken as a trilogy). That is kind of an impossible standard to live up to. Star Wars is still good in the modern era, but it will never be as good as the originals.

I'm not part of the SW core fanbase, I like the franchise but nothing special. I'm really not the vocal minority. I even mostly liked the prequels, it was entertaining enough for me at the time.

But I love what Disney is doing with Marvel movies so I was optimistic about Disney's SW. I found TFA too predictable but a nice way of starting a new trilogy. I really liked Rogue One and started to be excited about the future of the franchise.

And then TLJ shat on all of this. The movie could have been good with some interesting ideas and an expansion of the known universe, but there are so many face-palms moments and crappy additions (worse romance ever, killing the wrong characters in ridiculous and disappointing ways, killing all the questions asked in TFA...), that I'm not excited anymore about the franchise. There is no vision behind it, no spirit, just milking and trying to make it modern with whatever buzzword will do a good headline. I won't see Solo, and I'm not interested in SW9 (nothing in TLJ made me want to know "what will happen next?"). I'll see Obi Wan if they take McGregor to play it, that's it.

And I'm pretty sure a lot of people think the same, even outside the fanbase. TLJ was the movie which could create the most franchise fatigue, and they made it the most controversial, potentially annoying and story-cutting SW movie ever. So the franchise fatigue is at its peak IMO.

And meanwhile, they make Marvel movies 2 or 3 times a year and it keeps getting bigger and more popular. Marvel is well done, with an obvious and fun philosophy, a long term vision, respectful of the material and public. Star Wars isn't.

Some people need to get a fucking life.

It interesting to say the least, how certain people are obsessed with this topic, all while Disney laughing to the bank.

I think it's mainly been the TC, as he created and kept the TLJ thread alive, and now created this thread.

Star Wars fatigue. That they could make me feel largely disinterested blows me away, as I was a fanatic all my life.

A Star Wars movie used to feel like this huge event, but now there as common as Call of Duty.

Just saw Solo, loved it. Best heist movie I've seen in a long time. It's as good as Rogue One in my eyes, which I gave a 9/10 to. It blows that pile of garbage TLJ out of the water.

I know right? Straight up excellent movie in its own right, and an excellent Star Wars entry.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

I liked TFA and TLJ. I hated Rogue One. I am not watching anymore Star Wars movies besides Episode IX because Disney is just going to keep cranking them out.

If he is, it surely doesn't come across in the films.  Any looseness with his sexuality is just played up as a joke.  Really it just comes across as gay jokes that guys would say when they're fucking with each other.  To me it just shows Deadpool couldn't give two shits.  And really his character is never to be taken seriously.

There's a big difference when you're taking an existing character and just changing their character to match your own political persuasions. You want that stuff in a movie, have the creativity to create your own series and/or characters.  Instead these SJWs constantly worm their way in to piggyback off of other people's work.  And most of the time, like the recent Marvel comics cancellations show, it ends in failure or a greatly diminished product.

They are milking star wars to death.
