If anything, focus on diversity of character personalities, which is what REALLY matters, and what the OT did so much better doing than TLJ, which is riddled with a lot of cliche tropes and characters with wooden performances.

We didn't really get that in Last Jedi, not to mention the story was extremely weak, nonsensical, and a disgrace to the old story and lore of Star Wars. That movie pretty much killed any hype for the series and I think the ripple effect is starting to show itself in Solo.

Call me crazy, but Infinity War, DeadPool 2, and now Solo is an overwhelming stacking of back-to-back-to-back blockbusters: it just seems like Disney would have been better-served with waiting on the release.

They wouldn't have done better waiting. There's a reason they decided to launch it last week of the school year. Also, changing a characters identity isn't pc. It's catering. Ironic you use a slate link.

I hope Star Wars just goes away at this rate. Enjoy Marvel movies for the next 20 years, especially Black Panther. 

Star Wars movies have always leaned to the left of the political spectrum and Lucas is a hyper-liberal to boot, jeezus, kids these days know nothing about the Vietnam War or even Bush-era policy that Star Wars mocked. The whole theme of Star Wars is rebels (which is basically the 60s counter-culture/protest/hippie movement) rising up against a fascist government (the Empire), Lucas has said so many times. 

Not as lame as the people to which they refer ;)

I don't get the Star Wars fandom. Like Solo was one of the most shallow and forgettable movies i've ever seen. It's only called good by the fans because of the shallow fan service. Like this movie won't hold up the test of time because it has no real emotional investment at all. No standout style or better yet no risks. The only thing they care about is the fan service and shallow easter eggs. That's why those same fans hate The Last Jedi. It's doesn't drop itself to pander to them in the extreme fashion. I don't think Last Jedi was a super masterpiece like the critics are saying but it wasn't the worst movie ever. It's the cancerous Star Wars fandom only wanting callbacks and references more than they care about filmmaking or actual stories. This is why I always see people clapping over the Millennium Falcon like mindless drones. If Solo was not part of Star Wars franchise and was like a separate space film like Valerian or any other forgettable sci fi movie, nobody would care. At least Rogue One had emotional investment to the trilogy and had a unique personality as a Saving Private Ryan movie. This is just bland.

TFA was solid but each entry since gets worse and worse.

No hope for the franchises. Be is main series, spin off or viseo games. The franchise has lost its way and has been misguided under the hands of Kennedy and Disney.
