Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version announced for Switch, launches this coming week

“Better than nothing” is the mentality that allows publishers to get away with crap. Gamers are really good at just swallowing whatever is thrown at them. It’ll only get worse, and worse, and worse. Now you get to rent it for 180 days. Next time it’ll be for a month, then a week, then a day, and before you know it you’ll pay by the bullet. In this case would be better if there was nothing at all. But sure, have fun.

ugh let's hope that this is not the way games are played in the future.

No thanks.

I usually trade these types of games in on completion, and not have them sitting on a shelf. From my point of view I suppose £20 to complete a game in 6 months isn't that bad I suppose, however it depends on Internet speeds. I can see why people who collect physical media would be pissed.

I've played the SP more than the MP.

Wow, really? I just kind of stopped because it felt tacked on and bland I guess? I don't know, I went through all of Splatoon 1's single player and regretted wasting my time on it, because outside the final boss the whole thing felt like an after thought. It was like a glorified tutorial for the online mode and once you get to a certain point I feel their is no need to continue with it. It didn't help that it stretched on a bit too long and didn't have any actual cutscenes to add personality and life to the story (which was abysmal anyway). The first 10 minutes of Splatoon 2's single player made it obvious that it was the same deal with that game too, so I just skipped it.

I imagine most players who try to play multiplayer in conjunction with the single player, drop the single player soon after due to the tutorial vibe. IMO their is pretty much no reason to even play the single player unless you really love tutorials.

I would like to hear your take on it though. I legit didn't think anybody would play Splatoon more for the single player than the multiplayer and would like know why.

Maybe you should make a thread about it.

Well it's one way to avoid having to deal with switch's specs.

Through cloud gaming you could even get games like Witcher 3 or Far Cry 5 running on it. Not ideal but some games just won't run on it by any other way.

Though Resident Evil 7 being a 60fps and VR game... Yeah they could have ported that over to switch properly.

I'm a single-player guy in general, when you don't have any friends that's kind of what happens. I did play the game to play online with others, but they're so far ahead of me in skill and it's hard organizing times to play together so it's much easier to just do the SP.

That's a great solution imo. I have other single player offline games to play when I'm at work so I would buy this just for the possibility of playing it at home.

I will never rent a game.

Forever ? Why ?

When I first heard of this I thought it was a joke. Are they so desperate to put this game on Switch and show that they are supporting it by doing this? Making a stream only game defeats the purpose of putting it on the Switch since it is not as portable. They are probably better off just porting Resident Evil 1-6 at this point.

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true
