Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version announced for Switch, launches this coming week

there's so little info on this and already people are trying to shit on it.

It could be worse, the system could have no games on it. People in glass houses comes to mind with the negative posts here before information is known.

Also yeah... checked the listing for this, 42mb download from the jap eshop in 3 days time, me thinks unless that is the GB port of resi evil then you're going to need some internet power to play this. I'm intrigued. Strange support but still if it works for them and us I wont knock it just yet.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I don't understand how this will work, but I can't imagine this running all that well, especially if your internet sucks.

What's the big deal? You essentially get to rent RE7 for 20 bucks for 6ish months.

And for those people that cant see how Capcom has been mishandling the Switch, or just being completely idiotic regarding it, this piece of news should convince them.

Do not get me wrong on Capcom and other titles and how they have so far mishandled the switch, but you really think crappy looking port of RE7 would be better than this? Honest question.

As far as Im aware, RE 7 wouldnt run poorly on the Switch, if Capcom was willing to invest the time on the port.Im no tech expert so I might be talking bollocks, but if Im not mistaken, RE 7 is far from an intensive game, actually is fairly mild, so much so that the requirements for the PC version to run are somewhat low.(correct me if Im wrong).I mean, it has to be for it to have a VR version without having the need to overhaul the entire game. Not only that, but Outlast 1 and 2 runs on the Switch, and very well I must say, and honestly those games are about as graphical intensive as RE 7 from the videos I have seen.If they can run on it, why cant RE 7?

Plus, thats not the only problem. Why only are you allowed to play for half a year?I know there are costs that come with maintaining the servers, but still.... couldnt the time be at least higher? And finally, from my perspective, I always find it shitty to pay for a game that you have zero ownership over.At least for digital purchases you can download to your system hard drive. Not to mention that there are other services that offer a much better service for the same kind of "business".Gamepass for example. It costs the same, if Im not mistaken, and you have a huge selection of games.

The gameplay experience also depends on the quality of the internet connectivity, which is consumed by the way.If it were a multiplayer game then it would be ok, because it would be consumed either way, but its not.So that 20 dollar price tag is not exactly at 20.The list of negatives go on and on, and I could be here all night listing all of them.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Nothing says Capcom like completely missing the mark and making a game that isn't portable for Nintendo Switch. Seriously, what is Capcom's deal with the Switch? They're yet to make a good decision concerning it. Ports are fine and all, but it's been over a year of success, so it's about time you got your ideas together.

Mess at Cloud version

LOL i guess it is still better than a 1gb cart.

But fuck that. I'm more than happy to pay extra money for the full game on a cart.

Because there’s a contingent of “Nintendo fans” - more accurately put Gamecube fans - who always want to put themselves in the role of the victim. This group rose up strongly  in the Gamecube era when everyone called it a kiddy system, and we’ve been plagued with their perpetual-victim hood ever since.

Sorry, I’m probably more annoyed by the association with this victim mentality (as a Nintendo fan) than you are =P

But I agree, this seems like a fairly cool idea in running a high fidelity game on the Switch, and 20USD is about the cost of a lunch or two. Not bad for a 180 day rental for a game made for a high-end box console.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Only people with a good and stable internet connection will be able to play it at a decent level.
