Didn't once disagree with any of this in this thread. I said guns can easily be illegally obtained (Fake IDs was an example how someone can purchase a weapon in a different state) and then legally take it with him/her across state lines.

I also said the Brady Bill federally covers licensed sellers with background checks, not unlicensed private sellers, many of which can be found at gun shows.

Again, if you don't want to close the loophole, how do you curb school shootings in America? Do you believe school shootings are a problem? So far, you've been telling me the country shouldn't do something because it won't work. That's like saying making murder shouldn't be illegal because people will still kill.

"So far, you've been telling me the country shouldn't do something because it won't work. That's like saying making murder shouldn't be illegal because people will still kill."

lol the irony of this is killing me

what will you do when guns are banned and people resort to knives or homemade bombs?

will you then take away my ability to chop my carrots for my salad? or fertilise my crops so i'll have some food to put on my plate?

London has actually put in place knife control lmao. Because their murder rates have overtaken New York’s for the first time. I guess word control is next.

Well, someone resorted to a homemade bomb in Canada. Carried it into a restaurant, 15 injured, 3 still in the hospital, no one dead.

The next school shooting already happened in Indianapolis, luckily a brave teacher prevented anyone getting killed, 2 injured.

Just ban people, that will solve everything.

We must arm teachers with machine guns.

Great idea. I’d really love to be a black teacher with a machine gun at a school shooting.

Guess children will never stop killing each other in this hell of a country, because many people rather stick their heads to the ground while having guns in their butts.
How you can actually telling yourself a ban of guns would not prevents victims at all is beyond me.

Of course criminals don't care about laws. These nasty little children will just buy them from the blackmarked. Bet they will get a special discount from their local drugdealer too.
And if that fails they could just go to the darknet and hire a hitman. These little rascals are quite advanced when it comes to tech after all. Or but why yes, just build a bomb little guy. Bet most school shooters so far had acces to that kind of knowledge, parts and opportunity.

So yes of course it would not help anything at all. I mean everyone could use a knive right? In europe everyone just uses a knive. We call them school kniver. Just jumping around and stabbing 10 people.

Sorry for being rude, but that's what it sounds to me. I already feel sorry for the kids who will die in the near future while some people still try to defend this.
And no, this does not have anything to do with freedom. If your your freedom is defined by your ability to instantly murder whoever is in your view, than you got a much bigger problem. I just wonder what you'd say after they kill your child.

But hey guns are not even the main issue. Maybe they kill each other for a reason, you know? Maybe the school system is to blame. But since no one ever thinks about that, lets take care of the weapons. Who am I kidding, not like something will change without a civil war. At least victims are at a better place now.

word control has already been put into action with sexist and hate speech laws

I know it's difficult for you, but use some logic. Is it more efficient to kill with a gun or a knife? Is it easier for police or even someone at the scene to disarm someone armed with a gun or a knife?

It's America. It's completely unrealistic for all shootings to stop even with stricter gun control, but this country has to find a way to at the very least lessen both the amount and frequency of these tragedies.

With all that said, I'm gonna ask you the same thing to someone here I haven't gotten an answer on. Do you think school shootings are a problem in America?

What’s your solution, H.E.R? Yes, people targeting schools and soft targets with large unarmed crowds are a problem. What realistic laws would have stopped this? It’s terrorism. You know that the 2nd amendment won’t be repealed any time soon. Confiscation is unrealistic and won’t work. What would you do? I personally think we should hire vets or retired police to guard schools. Not useless security guards but trained people ready and willing to die for these kids protection, it’s unfortunate but it’s the only realistic way to deal with this imo.

School shootings are a problem, but things other than just taking away gun rights from the 99% of gun owning law abiding citizens will not stop psychotic people from continuing to do horrendous things. The issue is a little deeper than guns, most if not all the school shooters from Columbine to Virginia Tech to even the most recent one in Texas all have one thing in common, and it is constantly being forgotten by the media in order to push a different narrative. Are guns an issue? Sure, but it is just one of the many underlying issues. One must be ingenuous to think a psychopath will let the legality of weapons deter their plans, there's a thing called the blackmarket and the US probably has the largest one on the planet when it comes to illegal arms.

lol it is you that is being illogical here not me

"Is it more efficient to kill with a gun or a knife? Is it easier for police or even someone at the scene to disarm someone armed with a gun or a knife?"

and yet china has had a mass stabbing every month for this year...

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/27/world/asia/china-attack-school-knife.html

the implication i'm assuming is that a society would be safe and have no mass killings if guns could be removed... but that's nonsense

"but this country has to find a way to at the very least lessen both the amount and frequency of these tragedies."

there are 6 guns to every american in the country, lets say you completely stop new guns from being distributed... what are you going to do about all the guns already circulating around?

"Do you think school shootings are a problem in America?"

murder is an existential problem... i'd think anyone past the age of 10 understands that and funny enough the statistics show that its a problem that has been reducing with time

"With all that said, I'm gonna ask you the same thing to someone here I haven't gotten an answer on. "

you haven't gotten an answer because its a hilariously stupid question... shouldn't that be obvious?

Exactly. But in a school or concert it’s hard to find a solution. Out in the street you arm and defend yourself. I think they should stop making Malls gun free zones for example. If you have a concealed carry license you should be carrying. You might save someone’s life. It reminds me of the Chris rock song no sex in the champagne room,
“Don't go to parties with metal detectors
Sure it feels safe inside; but what about
All those ni**as waitin outside with guns?
They know you ain't got one..”

What do you do for a school though?
