NO. let me give you a brief rundown of how to write a character. first, the character has to be necessary to the story that is being told. second, the character's physical appearance is designed based on what role they play within the story. third, the character's personality is determined based on their place in the world of the story. fourth, you need to decide how the character would react to each situation the story would put them in.

now lets do a rundown for those two properties you mentioned, "female" and "gay".
1. it is extremely rare for any story to require a gay character, except if the story revolves around accepting diversity, which GTA does not. being female on the other hand is a tricky spot, since the criminal underworld is in a male majority.
2. people do not necessarily "look" gay unless they act according to gay stereotypes. and there are just as many ways to design a female character as there are for male characters.
3. neither "female" or "gay" are traits that affect a character's personality.
4. again, since "female" and "gay" are not personality traits, they play no role in how a character would react to the situations that would occur in a GTA game.

hopefully with this, you can see why a gay female character does not need to be in a GTA game, and why it would be complicated to do so

There are so many wrong things with this post that I am not going to bother answering back all that you said.

Neither "female" or "gay" are traits that affects a characters personality.

What an eyeroll.

If someone asks why I'm using an alt account, CGI and Truckusaurus got me a temp approval until I get my iconic and notorious "kurasakiichimaru" account back. :p

I'm just going to make it short... There's absolutely no reason for Rockstar not to do this on this day and age of gaming. Bye.

Sure, except that people's sexuality and genders should not be in and of itself a reason to appear in a video game as there is no direct relationship from one to the other.

Female protagonists do appear in video games (Tomb Raider, Alien Isolation, Shantae etc...) because artistically speaking there is good reason at that point to have a female protagonist, same with males, creatures, monsters etc.

But homosexuality is a sexual orientation so in and of itself there is no artistic reason to have such protagonist, the only reason to have them appear is a bad one: To fill up a quota so that someone somewhere can compile statistics that will end up being meaningless. Gays are real people so it's in real life positions that they need to appear to further their cause (CEO's, Politicians, spokespersons etc...) but in video games it would only be to satisfy some politically correct agenda.

It's as if someone said: "There should be more Democrats or Republicans appearing in video games..."

Don't get me wrong, if they (Gays) did appear in video games I wouldn't mind, as a matter of fact I am very sympathetic to their cause, it's just that I don't feel they would be appearing for the good reasons.

As OP said they don't have a reason not do it. But there also isn't a single reason to do it. Having a black protagonist appeals to black gamers of which there are more than a few.

If they want to add diversion and actually appeal a new audience, why not go for an Asian (they did with China town) or Hispanic instead. A GTA revolving around the opression of Mexican drug cartels does not sound all that bad. But I doubt a female protagonist will please the media.

Besides are you assuming the gender of any GTA protagonist. For all we know Trevor identifies as a lesbian gender fluid trans male. It's improbable but still, don't assume genders.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

A gay man doesnt have to act any differntly than a straight one, in a video game.....
unless it comes down to story elements, like he has a husban (instead of a wife) ect.

Why would it effect a persons personality to be gay? huh? unless your the flamboyant gay type, thats doing it for attention and to point out to others hes gay.
Most gay people are just like normal strait people, they dont really act differntly or have differnt personalities.

Why?

"Yes for equal Representation"

The thing is its like 5% of the worlds population.... and probably less than that, who buy these games.
If they "only" make like 2-3 protagonists, haveing them be "gay" just for representation, could be at the cost of those other 95% of the population, that maybe dont want to play as a gay or lesbian character.

Like this isnt me hateing, but its a reality that these companies are lazy.
Catering to a small minority, does little for the vast majority of their players.

Equals representation would mean, that in each game with a single protagonist, this would be a chinese.

Are you even gay to assume all of these about gay men?
