Which of these two beloved N64 shooters do you consider the better game, and why?

I just watched gameplay videos for both. Thank god for the advancement of graphics.

Two of the best shooters ever made, but I have to give an edge to Perfect Dark. Both have stellar, highly replayable single-player campaigns and addictive local multiplayer, but PD’s incredibly deep simulant options and co-op/counter-op modes push it over the top.

I think PD might be the better game overall, but there's something special about the world of James Bond and it fit so perfectly with Nintendo and the N64.

Two of the best multiplayer games of all time. But I gotta give it to goldeneye. Perfect Dark definitely had some nice advancements over goldeneye, but in just didn't quite feel as special as goldeneye. Probably part of that is goldeneye came first so perfect dark was just kinda of more of the same. But I definitely had more fun with Goldeneye than I did with perfect dark. soooo many endless hours of goldeneye multiplayer.

i'd give it to perfect dark. i've never really fancied the james bond franchise that much tbh. and i loved the x-filesy feel of pd!

At the time. Goldeneye. The multiplayer, the missions, the objetives. Was a bomb in the console market in the 90s.

Perfect Dark is the best try from Rare to make a better game in the same console. A more complex engine, more textures, lights, details, misions, history, brought us a excellent game, but less playable due to the framerate. Even when the game came out was hard, at least for me, to play becouse the framerate was really a hit. Now, if I put the game in my N64 again, is even worst.

The one who hits first (and good), hits twice, so my vote is for Goldeneye.

Goldeneye. I never enjoyed Perfect Dark too much because the framerate was just horrible. Also the lightning effects were annoying as fuck. Many times you couldn't see shit because of it and that was really confusing.

Golden eye. It's going to sound stupid, but the copy I owned stopped me from completing the game. I would get to the boss and the boss was invulnerable. I bought several magazines to see if I was doing something wrong, but for whatever reason, the copy I had didn't allow me to kill the boss.

Happened to me too, back then I figured I probably broke the game by using too many cheats or something. But whatever, I tried again and again and sometimes it worked.
