I'm arguing about how the Switch gets things right, where the GameCube failed when it tried something similar.

Back Last January, Nintendo said they thought about a portable home console with the GameCube since they put a handle on it, so it can easily be carried. So while not exactly the same, it shows that Nintendo at least had the concept in mind even back then.

And the Switch doesn't have a handle... so one additional difference that can be added to the million other differences between a GameCube and a Switch.
