The first half sounds intriguing, the second half not so much.

Well shit, now we have a ton of people jumping on this rumor. Gen 1 remakes with Pokemon Go actually being involved sounds so incredibly disappointing. Strangely though, I like the thought of Eevee on the boxart.

Pokemon yellow GO? Mehh

Well, I think it is too early for a new gen, since we have only 2 years from SM.I didnt expect a 2018 game to be a new gen game. Add kimishima declarations of old players coming back to reach the 20 million switches. It was kind of expected.

In 2019 or 2020 we will see a brand new generation, so, not much different for those who think The new game was a new generation.

Honestly I wouldn't mind a Pokemon Go link if it meant changing the battle system in GO. There's no way I'm going to be tapping away on my phone for a Pokemon game. Just change it to match the regular Pokemon battle system (turn-based, choose from 4 different moves) and it'd be a lot of fun.

Possible logo maybe?

EDIT: This tweet would certainly make a lot more sense now.

L on the hat for "Let's," Pokeball for "Go," and Pikachu n Eevee are self explanatory.

EDIT2: Holy shit the Pokeball is even tilted the same as in the logo! Yeah, I'm on team real now. :L

Most of that sounds good. Not a big fan of the idea of Pokemon Go integration, but the rest sounds nice.

By the way, this leak matches with the leaked screenshot from about a month ago:

In the screenshot you can see Lapras returning as a ride Pokemon for surfing. Eevee is out of his ball and riding on his trainer's head, which matches with this leak. Pokemon are visible in the world the same as Pokemon Go, which matches with this leak. Sucks that there is barely any graphical improvement over Sun and Moon though. Hopefully Gamefreak goes all out when they go to make Gen 8 later in Switch's life, we need a proper AAA Pokemon game with graphics that are close to Pokken level.

Ugh, guess I might be wrong about the screenshot and how the game will look then. Very disappointing if it's truely just Sun/Moon in higher resolution.

It being too early is why I always thought from it's announcement that it'd be a 2019 game. Well atleast it doesn't sound like a straight up remake since the player character isn't going to be Red.

Yea, its hard to have such a drastic change for a game to release in 2018 after it was announced a year ago. Plus, its Game Freak's first HD developed Pokémon game so they need some time to get used to the kinks of HD development, which means more manpower, more time, and more money.

Rumour sounds plausible tbh as to me it reads like you can play the game by itself or integrate PG if you want it would stand to reason they'd want PG to be able to interact with the new to help bridge the gap between their userbases on mobile and portables even more, the part about it being a sort of remake for Yellow indirectly matches previous rumours of it being a reboot of R/B/G as Yellow was a version of these games and a remake of it would look like a re-envisioned version of them.

Pikachu would make sense as it became the series mascot essentially but Eevee seems odd but then I don't follow the anime so maybe the later has increased in popularity to the point of becoming recognisable, it does all make sense though.

Have you played Pokémon Yellow?

Partly I didn't own it as it was my brother's game I already had Red.
