Ive been on pokemong GO charmander event for few minuties, in a park in Brasilia. And man, that was crowded. Thousand of people with their phones playing pokemon GO, and a very diverse demographic. Youngs, adults, olds, entire families, boys and girls of every age.
Is really difficult to say that every one there is a nintendo player.
If Nintendo want somehow to attract non nintendo players to switch, the easiest choice seem to be aiming for the pokemon GO players.
So, integration with pokemon GO is a right thing.

Is the "soon" reveal yet?
At latest must be next week if the rumor about being announced before end of may is correct.

If Emily is to be believed, I'd say we get a Pokemon Direct either this Friday (25th) or next Tuesday (29th), as the 3 Pokemon directs we've had so far have all been on those days, but it could be any day of the week really.

It should be very soon if all of this is legit. No point in them waiting. Would be crazy if this all turned out to be fake after all.

Well they said May, but to be fair last year we had Pokemon Direct and Pokemon 3DS announcement in June just one week before E3, so maybe if we dont have announcement  in May we could have in June before E3 or maybe even at E3.

It seems like Yokai will be released before Holiday, maybe even in summer.

Interesting.

Well the 25th seems a lot less likely now as the direct woulda been announced already, though it's still possible it could happen before the end of today. Your bet looks safe, though there is the trademark theory. Apparently trademarks don't appear publicly until two weeks after they're made. Assuming they were filed alongside the domains on the 15th, that means they'll become visible on 29th. One would think Nintendo will want to reveal the game before then to not have another Sun/Moon situation.

This is running out for this rumor.
