The leaker says only the first 151 Pokemon will be in the game...

I obviously ain't buying the game if that's true, millions of fans will certainly do the same. Surely Gamefreak isn't completely daft to not realise this, so they're probably hoping the players gained from such hardcore gen 1 pandering well outweighs those lost. Such a highly unlikely and unnecessary gamble, but again, if that's true. We've had plenty of leaks that got stuff right but other stuff wrong before. We can only hope this is another one of those.

This is a good time to remember not to believe everything you read on the internet especially when it includes the words "rumour" and "pokemon".

Also there is nothing to say that this extends to post game and pokemon bank. Even if there is Pokemon Go integration, what are you going to do with all your gen 2, 3 + alolan form mons?

I can say with absolute certainty that they won't scrap pokemon 152-807 in this game.

Like I said we have to hope it's not true. If it were a random nobody I'd not give this a second thought, but it comes from the guy who leaked Let's Go in the first place.

Nothing until the gen 8 games lel.

In addition to gen 1 pandering, it would also require less work, so unfortunately I can't say with confidence that there's no way Gamefreak would do this.

Yeah that is what I find odd as well. But the leak/rumor comes from the person that initially said the games would be titled Let's Go Pokemon Evee and Pikachu (which a lot external sources confirmed months later). He also said that nothing beyond the 151 Pokemon will be available in the post game. However, as you say, it would be odd if only gen 1 are available considering how far ahead Pokemon Go is. Furthermore, not being able to transfer Pokemon from the previous games through the Pokemon Bank kind of breaks the entire concept of the Pokemon Bank.

So far there are a lot of negatives in these rumours (Pokemon Go style catching, only gen 1 returning, no pre-evolutions, Sun & Moon graphics) and I am really worried about this game once it is revealed and what its potential failure could do to the Switch.

I just don't see it. Sometimes I feel like people don't give Gamefreak enough credit and for some reason think they will only ever give the lowest of the low. I mean their is no evidence they'd do this, even in FRLG had the rest of the pokemon in the game and catch able in the post game. Plus not to mention they already have all the models and their is a new gen 7 pokemon that was only just revealed and is being released this year. It would also completely nullify the Pokemon Bank service which was literally made as future proof method of transferring of later games/hardware to new games/hardware.

At most all I see is the 151 pokemon + their later added evolution lines with the rest of the pokemon being in the most game/via pokemon bank.

Hopefully once the games are revealed, people are in for some major relief. The 151 pokemon rumour annoys me because it'll take them until they happen to show a non gen 1 pokemon in a trailer to debunk it. Which could take a while intially if they're in mostly just the post game like FRLG.

Could be dead wrong about this, but I'm still 95% certain this isn't a gen 8 game and that's still on the way. I think this exists simply because Nintendo wasn't content to wait 3 years into the Switch's lifecycle for Pokemon and neither were fans. Having only the original 151 in this would make sense if these game are just to tide fans over until the gen 8 games are ready since it requires far less time and resources to do. So don't expect next gen Pokemon from this and you won't be so disappointed. We'll get that when it's ready, not some rush job.

GO integration is a horrible idea....

This... looks more like a fighting game than an RPG.Well, given that everyone keeps saying that this is a mainline entry, I wont worry about this part and just assume the screenshot is out of context.

Other than  that, it looks really good.Far better than I expected actually.I dont know what you are depressed about.

The screenshot is fake. That's why I'm depressed. No Pokemon game will ever look anything like this.

And it doesn't look much different from XB2. The HP bars aren't where they traditionally are, but I feel like that's a pretty inconsequential tradition to hold onto.

The UI is an interesting concept for the layout apart from the massive flaw it's missing a bunch of details like PP, reused assets, and the buttons being mapped to an xbox controller not a Switch controller. (YXBA instead of XYAB)

Of course I didn't. I'm pretty sure it's fan art - not even a fake leak. This looks better than anything Gamefreak would ever make, even with the flaws. It's not a terrible looking mock-up, though. It's a really cool concept for a combat system that will never be.

Really hope this isn't true. A Yellow remake wouldn't be terrible but 2 versions would be silly. Plus with Eevee as the counterpart with its multiple evolutions versus a Pikachu that likely won't be able to evolve is a bit broken.
Also I really hate the idea of intergrating mechanics from GO as. Compatibly is fine, but no more than that (buy this I mean the capturing method).

Also I'm not against a return to Kanto but as a new game, not a rehash.

Really I thought you were annoyed because it looked bad (the cel shaded models really don't work with the more realistic background) with chance it was real. Honestly I think Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon straight up but into HD with no refinement looks better than that, with only the UI being a cool concept for the single screen.

No trainers standing behind their pokemon makes it look like a bit of a step back.
