Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: Pokemon Switch will be revealed soon, launching this year

In July 2016, Pokémon Go launched, and became a massive phenomenon, having been downloaded more than 500 million times worldwide by the end of that year. Then, by 2017, overall download numbers increased to over 750 million a year.  This all leads to a much bigger question: What lessons should Game Freak and Nintendo learn from Pokémon Go’s success? How could Switch benefit from Pokémon Go’s success, and how could Pokémon Go benefit from Switch’s success?

After all, it was Nintendo who released “Pokémon Go Plus”, a bluetooth wearable device, developed by Nintendo’s Platform Technology Division, that allows players to enjoy the game without looking at their smartphone.  Would Nintendo ever dare to create more Pokémon Go accessories like that — possibly even for the Switch?

Joe Merrick, the creator of Serebii.net, once wrote an article on Nintendo Life titled “What Pokémon Go and the Pokemon series could learn from each other.”

As we wait for an announcement on the upcoming Pokémon title, which will be revealed before the end of this month, think about what Pokémon Go might mean for the future of the Pokémon series. I suspect that the naming/branding for this year’s Pokémon Switch title (there’s two versions) might raise a few eyebrows.

To be fair Nintendo stated Pokemon release for Switch like 2018. or later, and pre-E3 announcement is way how Pokemon games are in recent time getting announced.

Yet another pointless ER rumor. Details are too vague to mean anything, and Pokemon being revealed this month is hardly a difficult prediction.

How is her track record?

Quite good, espacily in recent times, she was right about Mario Rabbids, Dark Souls, South Park..

If true Emily appears to be hinting that it will be tied to Pokemon Go in some way including with regards to naming/branding as well as a new Pokemon Go related accessory.

I would not mind optional integration with Pokemon Go or even including the words "Pokemon Go" in the title, but I do hope that this is an actual core RPG Pokemon game. If not, I can see a generally negative reaction headed their way from the internet.

Right now I am personally guessing the games will be called Pokemon Go Red and Pokemon Go Green. Beyond that I assume the games will be some sort of RPG but I am still not sure if it will be a mainline core RPG Pokemon game.

All over the place, she gets a few right but others are either wrong, vague to the point they lead nowhere or recycled from another rumour from claims someone else earlier had made.

So Switch lineup probably looks something like this:
-August: Yoshi
-September: Smash Bros
-October: some big 3rd party game/s and maybe some Wii U port.
-November: Pokemon
-December: Fire emblem

I could see that happening, but i don't think Pokemon will release this year but rather March 2019. Smash and Pokemon releasing that close to each other just feel like overkill

Ok but sporadic.  And a lot of her correct ones are pretty vague when she made them and not hard to call, coming off more as good chance guesses.  This feels like one of those, honestly.

When they announced it Nintendo said "Gamefreak has begun developing a core RPG Pokemon title on Nintendo Switch" so no worries there.
