Is there really any other choice than the Rocksteady mainline games?

origins felt more like a city rehash but I still liked it more because of real boss fights and no batmobile simulator.

The way mission selection was handled in Arkham Knight made doing side activities much less of a hassle compared to City. I actually felt like the City in Arkham City hindered my enjoyment, it wasn't till Arkham Knight they did the open world right.

I liked arkham knight but the forced batmobile really hurt the overall experience and I didnt really like the joker story

To be fair I only played these 3. I loved Asylum, enjoyed City and didn't even finish Knight.

Well Blackgate barely counts, Origins is kinda tacked in and had no real point beyond being a stand-in until Knight was finished and you forgot Arkham VR (also barely counts).

I'm being unfair on Origins. It's my 4th favourite, mainly because of the story was bland, but it was still fun.
