Better to delay a game that could potentially end up being amazing than to rush a game that can be terrible, so I hope Nomura don't listen to these individuals complaining about release dates.

Anyways, they've said it many times already, the 3 part game is going to be like the FFXIII Trilogy.

Yeah, let delay it till 2030 for the best FFVIIR as much as possible, or even 2040, we will have a godsend

Besides you being older and having experienced a lot an thus making it harder to surprise you, gaming in general have improved so much that even top games don't get that much wow over orhers.

But you should have been clearer at first, and also you didn't say what have gotten their leadership.

Not one in particular, I've been enjoying Elder scroll, Fallout, Xenoblade, & Fire emblem I also like Dragon quest from SE, If there has to be a replacement then I think Bethesda got the majority of my time

Maybe experiencing the old games at their time makes a difference but that's my point, FF13, & FF15 have their moments but somehow they feel incomplete, SE loses of FF talents is the major factor I guess, but I don't think it's the only thing, I believe that the company is unwilling to take major risks and huge investments and we can see that clearly in all their titles

Seems like you want to count WRPGs as JRPG and from what I have played FE is very much standard FF Tactics without much groundbreaking, Elder Scroll is just a boring game for me =p won't comment on Fallout because I never got interested in playing, DQ I haven't played in ages and Xenoblade I hated their PS2 entry.

Well I don't really think Pokemon is similar to what we usually consider JRPG... but if we were to consider Pokemon a JRPG then FF losing the lead would be something that happened almost since Pokemon released and not something of a new occurence as was the point from that person.

Want it or not, Pokemon/Digimon/Monster Hunter Stories/Yokai Watch/World of Final Fantasy are JRPG

Most would say that a JRPG isn't defined as a RPG made in Japan, but on its elements... anyway as I said if one want to consider Pokemon a JRPG (no problem in my opinion) he shouldn't say FF recently lost it's lead as the main JRPG because pokemon sell more and have more talking going on.

Xenoblade is a Nintendo IP, since when it was on ps2? That is Xenosaga. Xenoblade is real-time RPG with strategy and chain attack/combo to take advantage of enemy weakness like a MMO single player, not tradition turn-base like Xenogears or Xenosaga. It also have very big world, especially with Xenoblade X is full open world, you can go anywhere you want. About Pokemon is a JRPG, i can agree with you that he shouldn't say FF recently lost it's lead as the main JRPG, a bit mistake here, he should mention the popular of the brand or the 1st rank of JRPG that is FF, not the sale

Final Fantasy hasn't been the premier RPG franchise for Japan in years.... The last mainline Final Fantasy in the series to score high with critcs was Final Fantasy 12 - and that was back in 2006...

so TL;DR

they stripped the game from the original dev team 2 years into development and scrapped all their work, basically starting from scratch in 2016. Nomura is also barely present since he is split 3 ways with directing Osaka, KH3, and FF7 all at once.

we likely wont see an official update until 2020 at the soonest

Pretty much.

Square Enix is officially appearing at E3 with a presentation on the 11th of June. Everyone has already automatically assumed it's gonna be about FF7 Remake. But it reality it's going to be for Kingdom Hearts 3, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. And MAYBE their secret collaboration Avengers project.

But there certainly won't be anything on FF7 Remake.

Exactly, in fact Xenosaga III was better than FFXII but because it is a niche game so it was overshadow by FFXII. However, nowadays a lot FF fans including many Sony fans still believe FF series is the face of JRPG and the first class of all JRPG so not a surprise that he mistook it

Sorry if I thought you would understand by Xenoblade entry what was the IP before it that was on PS2, because guess what, you knew what game it was but decided to try to one up.

I don't understand your remark about the lose in the ranking.

I don't think FF is the face of JRPG, it is just my favourite RPG game independent of being JRPG, WRPG or any other variance.

Once again Square Enix seems to be scrambling.

If they had stopped shifting Tetsuya Nomura around and had let him focus on FF Versus XIII we could've had an even more amazing and complete FFXV game.

well im not liking the three part rumor here lol.

i won't be buying three games for one game I have played and stil have the original discs for

All they have to do is take FF7 and update the graphics, get some new FMV and maybe some voice over work, that shouldn't take 4 years to do. Was anybody really asking for what looked like FF15 with a 7 skin? I wasnt
