Forums - Sales Discussion - UK April charts: God of War takes No.1, Nintendo Labo starts slow

I was actually expecting to see Labo somewhere in the top ten, lol.

God of War in top spot... was anybody NOT expecting that? :P

Actually it entered at Number 3 in the U.K charts.

Labo was released on 27th April. The chart provided before was for sales 1st April to 28th April. So that's why Labo was only at Number 26 for that period. For the week it entered at number 3.

think the OP needs to change their heading as number 3 for the week in the Uk is hardly a slow start.

Where are the people now who said that Labo would outsell God of War? lol

That was one of the craziest predictions in years

I got to say it's funny with all the goalpost moving for Labo. When the first pre-orders were available, people were thinking it would be a big hit because of its ranking on Amazon. Then, when they started to slip, it changed to "Oh well, I never thought it would start big, it'll be big during the holidays." Now, that part may become true, but it's hilarious how many people are acting like that was the consensus from the very start.

And after a very meh start in Japan and poor starts in UK and Germany, there are people actually saying this is a good start? Come on, let's not leave reality here. Labo is not starting well at all. Maybe it'll pick up during the holidays, but let's not allow are biases to put blinders on.

You do see what is in front of Labo, right? Far Cry 5. That game has been out for a month, so it's sales are going to be pretty low. Yet, Labo couldn't beat it. And the robot pack is below South Park:TFBW, a game that's been out for over 6 months. It's a slow start.

Slow start indeed, a sensible comment. Too early to be calling flop though. The Labo v God of war thing is moronic.

I don't know, but I remember saying that selling around 500k-750k at most lifetime would be great for what it is imo. (Which i heavily think is still possible) So maybe you shouldn't generalise everyone into either category it's going to be the next Wii Sports and category it's going to be the next Wonderful 101. Cause that shows bias too.

It only needs to do like 500k at most lifetime to be worth while anyway.

#3 and #26 for it's debut week at the end of April with two days of sales in the UK is pretty much on the good end of what I was expecting for the UK; which isn't one of Nintendo's best markets and the Switch is still got a relatively small user base being only a little over a year old.

Considering it costs $10 to $20 more than other games, it is not surprising it's getting outsold by others.

In Japan God of War sold better in second week than Labo according to MC.
