Who Responds Best to What Fans Want?

Microsoft 10 11.63%

Nintendo 12 13.95%

Sony 64 74.42%

Total:86

NOT cancelling a project that they promise for so long means they are listening to fans? Yes, but I still see that as sony seeing a market for the title to make more money and nothing more. A valid point, but that is the case with every game out there, not only to those who passed development hell.

Giving to us finally a unified account, a second analog stick on the 3DS ? Thank frickin God, both were a necessity.

Crash Bandicoot Remastered? That's actvision, isn't it? Maybe sony had something to do with the project and if so, it maybe fitting but even then...

Microsoft got rid of that policy back in the start of the generation surely so they can remain competitive, not to appease their fans.

I don't know who to pick, honestly. They all "listen to fans" when it's appropriate to their respective strategies, as big corporations usually do.

Nintendo

Listened:

-Voice acting in Breath of the Wild.

-Unified Online Account

-Added a second analog stick to New 3DS

-Fan feedback for Smash Character

Did Not Listen:

-Sill no Pokemon MMO (Pokemon Go) or Full 3D mainline console Pokemon (Until Switch version hopefully)

-Metroid Prime Federation Force

-Still no trophy or achievement system

-Ignoring Virtual Console

theres a difference between 'not listening to fans' and just having questionable actions. GameFreak, which operates independently from Nintendo, has come outright and said why a Pokemon MMO would be a financial nightmare if they ever attempted it, and explained why a home console pokemon game would not work with the main series due to the lack of local play, hence why the Switch will be the first. as for Federation Force, it was really on them for delivering a sub-par spinoff in the middle of a series drought without news of Metroid Prime 4 first. im telling you, if the two were announced at the same time, people would have been more open to it.

some better alternatives i would suggest could be "continued lack of online support in their AAA games" or even "ignoring several popular franchises for over a decade" and how about "refusing to meet demand for classic edition consoles"

Definitely Sony, that's not even a contest imo. Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, MediEvil, Final Fantasy VII Remake, The Last Guardian and Shenmue 3 are only a few game examples of how much Sony made fan dreams come true this generation.

Sony. It's why they're number one consistently.

...Except for PS3, PSP and Vita.

So? An outlier and bringing up handhelds is your counter? 😹 Sony keeps beating their butts 2 to 1 where it matters. That's not happening because of fanboyism. People around the world get the kind of games they want.

To Sony's credit, I have to applaud them for giving us the "folders" option. I love it!

Of course Microsoft by making their games multiplatform.
If only Sony and Nintendo followed their example.

Listening to the fans is not always a good thing. For instance - the Switch wouldn't even exist if Nintendo listened to their fans. But now most seem to be very happy Nintendo went in that direction.

Nintendo often doesnt... they have their own vision of where to go, and just hope the fans follow.
I wouldnt really say Nintendo is big on listening to fans.

Sony>MS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(infinite)>>>>>>>>>>>>Nintendo lol

^ this.

Its not even close, when it comes to listening to fans and giveing them games.
How many Xbox guys have been begging MS to do a Sunset Overdrive 2? or a Ryse 2? new Lost Oddessey? and non of that will happend.

You can add to the list that Nintendo hasn't listened (yet) on transferring save data to another Switch, unless it has been addressed.

I was going to mention that Sony hasn't listened on the PSN ID name changing, but to be fair they have listened, just haven't acted on it yet.

I chose Sony for multiple reasons, more specifically, the DRM issue back in 2013 and bringing games to it, including one that fans were "very, very vocal about", which was Shenmue 3.
