Forums - Website Topics - New Home Page (Part 2)

Some issues I've encountered:

- The search bar is unavailable on mobile
- The article authors are not hyperlinked (it doesn't re-direct to their staff profile)
- The forum buddy resets whenever you refresh/go to a new page instead of remembering where you were last.

Sometimes when i try to click on the hhot topics from home on mobile nothing happens so i have to go into the forums.

I was just wondering if it were possible to have the VGChartz Buddy when you sign in on the front page. I miss having it readily there.

It should be there - and it should be parked, wherever you last dropped it.

As I mentioned before - certain pages on vgchartz (most notably, the forums and profile pages) haven't yet had the new framework setup, and so if you visit those pages the new buddy will disappear and you'll see the old one instead. Once you move back though (to a page that is mobile ready), the buddy should show up once again...

Yeah, I was just informed on it. Sorry, I'm still getting used to the new front page. Really digging the new buddy setup too. Good work to you and Trucks!

 - THAT was what I was trying to remember (search bar!!!) - I just fixed the menu not working if you aren't signed in, and I couldn't remember what the other function was - thank you!!
 - Yes, that's something we should correct
 - It shouldn't - are you sure? Actually, let me rephrase - it will definitely reset if you go to the forums or profile pages (because neither of those have been moved to the mobile framework), but it SHOULD remain open and remember where you placed it on the GameDB and Prediction League pages (as well as if you return to the home page). This is one of the reasons I'm anxious to get the forums moved over to the new framework, btw. 

It resets too when going to the game DB/prediction league or when refreshing the page, to clarify I don't mean the placement of the buddy, I meant the tab that the buddy was open on.

Also, another feature I'd like is for it to tell Supporters how much longer they have until their subscription is up.

Are you referring to the 'drop down' filter? Does it not appear at all?

 


 

Noi mean the hot topic area of the home page with the threads. Whenever i click on those in mobile nothing happens. So for me to acess to forum on mobile i have to go to the forum page instead of going through the home page.

...I'm not trying to be thick here - I'm genuinely trying to make sure I fully understand what's going on, because this sounds more than a little strange. Are you saying ALL of the thread links themselves, are dead???

 - What is the current forum that the box set to? Does the box title read "Forum - Hot Topics"?
 - What type of device and browser are you using?
 - Is there anything else at all, that you might possibly see on the page that looks either broken or out of place?

There should be a total of three distinct links, in the area for each thread in that box:
 1 - Link to the thread (the title of the link is clickable)
 2 - Link to the board that the thread has been posted in (Nintendo Discussion, Latest Charts, General Discussion, etc.)
 3 - Link to the placeholder spot, of the last post you read in the thread ("xx New").

Are all three of these links dead???

The box reads "Foruom-Hot Topics" and yes all the links there are dead but this only happens on mobile.
