Street Fighter II released in June 1992 for SNES, no version of it came to Genesis until Sept 1993.

Regardless of the 15 months you are pointing to, Capcom still handled both ports, which is what was questioned.

Ya i wasnt arguing your overall point, i just didnt think that one example was a good one.

Im not sure how true this is but ive heard Capcom wasnt allowed to port Street Fighter II to Genesis and their way of getting around that was to make a rebranded version with different content.

Labo got what it deserved: very bad sales.
From being a very bad product to being advertised by the horrible, anti-children, population control freak Bill Nye the wanna be scientist guy. What a failure. It almost makes me want to sell my switch.

It’s a toy, not a video game.

And that’s the “made for kids” part you aren’t getting - it’s like getting a doll house and trying to say that there’s really nothing there for videogame fans, but your daughter can sit there for hours and make up stories with it... (most) adults, we can’t do that anymore, not in any enjoyable capacity.

The price of admission is likely something Nintendo researched when they saw other similar cardboard products selling for huge amount of money (like the Minecraft stuff). While the initial shipment didn’t sell our right away, people are buying it at a fairly steady rate.

Granted it's a small sample size of only 2, but my little nephews should be all over this in theory, but they got bored with it very very quickly. And some of the constructing is simply too complicated for kids 8 or under, which is really the only demo that might get something out of the games.

Have you played the games you posted or just posted them?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/372chj/why_did_konami_and_capcom_make_snes_and_genesis/

http://nerdtrek.com/nintendos-restrictive-licensing-history/

As I said... Nintendo restriction on publishing of several games made even games you posted like Disney games have different levels, developers, etc.

2) Most would list storage as a reason, but considering Nintendo have had difficult to get 3rd party support until Switch shows you how much they have damaged their relationship to those companies mostly because of their tyrannic posture on earlier years.

Have you read through the links you posted? Disney games had different levels because different third party publishers held the licenses, so each third party developed its own games and that had nothing to do with Nintendo. The article about Nintendo's restrictions talks about the most widely known companies who circumvented Nintendo and ends with the conclusion that Nintendo's restrictions were a good thing because those games sucked so hard.

Yes, Nintendo control is so good that it gifted us with Superman 64.

And thank you for agreeing with Nintendo trying to control the market and companies having to find their way to circumvent it.

lol, that game was indeed atrocious.  I unsuspectingly bought that used as a loose cart at a retro game store.  My God, flying through those stupid rings!

I bought an old N64 and it had the cartridge together... I tried it for like 30 min without ever understanding the point of it =]

If I had paid even 1 usd I would have thought it was a rip-off.

I think it is not a game, we cant evaluate the software value as the gaming part. tools for creation is the main aspect.
That said, I think the worst aspect about it is that you cant share your creations online and download the others.
Because the creation part of it seems amazing.
