Are you saying that the malnourished children living on the streets are "choosing" to live that way? Are you saying that being poor is a choice? What a woefully ignorant statement.

Malnourished kids happen because their parents created them. Dont have kids unless youre well off. If you do it's your problem and I'm not going to pay for them. For me, my only goal since 16 has been making money, period and getting the heck out of my parents situation. For my past friends it has been a lot of other things. Kids, family, career enjoyment, etc. If career and accumulation of money isnt your goal then dont complain. I had friends go university to study history and then complains when he's not doing well afterwards. I dont want to hear it. I told him it's a garbage degree before he got it and that he should have gone for law, especially considering he was a straight A student. If your idea of a career is pursuing something you enjoy and not something that makes the most money then dont come complaining.

Gotcha, so you're a borderline sociopathic selfish person who only cares about his own circumstances and cares not for the well-being of others. That pretty much fills out what I had expected.

Now if only we could get your type to think "I'm not going to pay for another M1 Abrams tank! We already have 5,000 of them and barely a fraction of those are getting any use right now" instead of "I'm not going to pay to feed that starving child. He needs to suffer for the actions of his parents"

At least with the former you'd be making the same point and it wouldn't be regarding the most needy in our country.

It's amazing that young white men will switch parties just to placate their ego. Changing a party doesn't change the facts.

Does placate even work in that sentence? And don't most people do that? Most people vote based on completely superficial circumstances usually revolving around their sense of identity.

Actually I'm not for the bloated military budget either. I just argued that it's not like it's all going down the drain - it does provide people jobs and money. I wouldnt have an issue if it was slashed 50% though because it is obscene.  You're making a lot of assumptions. I'm by and large socially liberal. I'm for drug legalization (for all drugs), legalization of prostitution, gay rights (which we have), public option higher education, limited public option healthcare (with private mix) - since this would actually be cheaper than our current crap system, I'm for more extensive testing of providing homeless people homes because experiments have shown this actually costs the state less than keeping them homeless. Can go on. However I happen to value money more than I value other things. If you dont I dont want to hear complaints about your situation. That's life, it's a chain of priorities.

Appease, pacify, soothe, mollify....

As for voting based on ego?  I don't think most people do that.  I mean that's partially what being a democrat is all about.  You vote on the principle of helping others and not just yourself.

You should expand on what you meant by Changing a party doesn't change the facts.

What facts are you talking about it?

White privilege, the patriarchy, the gender pay gap, toxic masculinity....

You actually believe in all those things? Or you just trolling me?

ego isn't just about being petty. that's just the layman way of using the word. ego is also about your own sense of identity.

White men are also tired of companies or even government institutions hiring people over them for diversity reasons despite being more qualified.
