You know what?
Americans are too split up.
You shouldn't.
You weaken yourselves and your enemies take advantage of that of that division.
You think there is one absolute right party? Both of your main sides have good and bad reasons. And you probably have third options but you have too much dominance of the main binary choices on politics.
Don't be binary on your thought.
They are both parties that seek power to the hands of some not good and other better people.

SJW, Feminism, Black Lives Matters, White Man Aversion, Politically Correctness, Gun Rights, Iran, deplorables, Comey, China bla bla.

All those issues need a honest, respectful and truthful debate between all sides. So you get a balance.
You need to talk between yourselves. And more with your supposed enemies.
And not just make fun of them. Or moralize them.

That does not seem to happen. There is public shaming and ridicularizing on both sides.
There are internet american videos of feminist snowflakes and there are internet american videos of anti-feminist snowflakes.
I like you have marketing words for everything like triggering, triple down, etc. On your politics debate. It is showbusiness working.
Look to your side and start building points of consensus and don't just tell that the other side is delusional. That is not true and will not move you forward, will leave you halted. Nobody is 100% right and nobody is 100% wrong.

And there are reasonable and correct arguments on both sides. Being 100% conservative or being 100% liberal is not the way to go. Probably there are good points on both sides. And bad points. That should be your discussions. Pointing the bad and the goods on BOTH sides, not just ONE side.
That I think is your mistake.
Maybe Im being too arrogant or simplistic but as an outsider that watches the american politics news both on cnn and fox news (not only but as an example of polarization), for me it seems you have two countries in one! This is what I think at least. Maybe Im wrong..

Can you each one of you point bad ideas/postures on the democratic AND the republican side and then do the same thing for the good ideas/postures on both sides?

And trying to be impartial while doing that?
That is a hard exercise for you to do it seems to me.

Cheers to all.

The moment the Orange Man-Child will finally resign will be the moment the public shaming will end. I assume you’ve all read the news that Trump himself faked his health report last year?

Man, for me Trump...not gonna comment directly.

My point is other: Trump is a product of your divided and binary America. You just read this forum to see that.

Let me try and give you an example to illustrate my point:
- everyone is discriminated in one way or another.
Some less, some more, some winning in the middle.
Valid points on all sides.
Either be gay, women, white male, atheists, christians, musilims, white males, african americans.
There is not 0% discrimination in each one of this cases.
And every case discrimination is done in a different way.

What happens right now in your debate:
-Republican: white males are discriminated. Fuck black and women. (add propaganda insult: snowflake)
-Democrat: Black and women are discriminated. Fuck white male and christian. (add propaganda insult: deplorable)
Binary division.

You need to get out of this loop that blocks evolution of ideas and society.
Work all in getting the balance.
There are extreme white male, feminist defenders and so on.
But there are valid arguments on both sides and you all know that.

Listen to each other and think what is right in each type of discrimitation. What that cannot happen to women and white male, for example.
Then filter what i whining on BOTH sides - there is whinning on both sides.

And start solving your differences out.
You are not enemies.
We human need to feel we are on the RIGHT SIDE.
Both are right sides. If half of you are on one side and the other half on another, you need to come together in some way to not fall into weakness.

Most of politicians are trash. On most of political parties. Your party is no different.

Listen to other side. Question the other side.
Question your side also.

In my view, America biggest and most dangerous problem is not white privilege or sjwarriors.
Those are just fuel for the fire.

And the fire is the binary division of its people.

Cheers

Definitely agree that white men are being pushed so they have no choice to push back. I just hope this ridiculous pendulum stops in the center some day.

This should not last long. Its a vocal minority thats doing the pushing and they seeme to be a certain group. Poor careers choosing college grads who are finally facing reality. But the new gen will hopefully learn from their mistakes and they will be forgoten. Then the left will take power again and screw it up somehow again then back to the right.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

White men are also tired of companies or even government institutions hiring people over them for diversity reasons despite being more qualified.

I work for a government facility and quotes like this are just factually wrong! White men may feel intimidated because jobs that they solely use to get are now being filled by equally qualified minorities, but unless you were in the hiring room and can point out and prove that this is happening in droves its baseless banter. Im a minority and have never gotten any job over a white male because they needed to fill some quota.

Maybe you have been hired based on your skin colour before and you just don’t know it. Companies are pushing for diversity and that means hiring minorities, sometimes, without requiring them having as much skills or qualifications as a white person. We know, for example, that blacks and hispanics don’t need as good grades as white people to get into medical school.

46% is a plurality, not a majority.

For the US and maybe Canada only.

The remainder of the civilised world call it a relative or simple majority, including the United Kingdom.

The term "simple majority" is occasionally used in Canada as well, but the term plurality is used far more frequently.  I don't recall encountering the term "relative majority" before reading it in this thread.  The word "plurality" gets used a great deal in Canadian politics as there are typically 3 to 5 parties electing members (unlike in the U.S. where there are typically only 2 parties winning seats).  That makes it relatively rare under the antiquated and unfair first-past-the-post electoral system (that most of Canada, the U.S., and the UK share) for a candidate to win a majority of the vote, and almost unheard of for a party to win a majority of the vote.  Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's party won with 54% of the seats with only 39% of the vote, for example.

It's fair to say that 46% is not a "majority", as by your own acknowledgement it would have to be qualified as a "relative majority" or a "simple majority".

It seems to me that we have a perfectly good and accurate word in plurality, so I see no benefit (and some detriment) in using two words when one will do nicely.

And it further seems to me that we badly need electoral reform in all three countries mentioned in this post.  :)

I'm definitely on the right, but I also definitely agree that we need to find a way to settle in the center.  This constant swinging back and forth just seems like no one will ever be happy, and it will probably end in mass bloodshed.

What I'm saying is simple though, unless you know for certain of instances where this has occurred then its baseless! Not just spreading he said she said, people have to prove that they have been passed over by someone less qualified than them. How would they even know that information in the first place? Its pretty insulting that people actually believe that blacks and Hispanics don't need as good of grades as whites to get into medical school.

What has this country come to?

A white guy at work told me today that he believes those young black men purposely went into Starbucks and didn't want to buy anything to cause a scene. Everything is not a conspiracy situation, sometimes bad things happen to specific groups of people because of the color of their skin, their religion or ethnicity. If a feels offended by this stuff getting publicized then just put yourself in their shoes and imagine being them for just a few short minutes.

We now have crazy Kanye telling people that slavery was a choice and guess what it wouldn't surprise me if people start pushing this narrative. People would rather believe the biggest lie than the smallest truth, because sometimes getting right with the truth means acknowledging painful situations.

I've said this many times before and believe it now more than ever, we have no business as a country telling other countries how they should live and treat  their people when ours is so divided!

Its so weird to see statements like this, because I keep wondering where are white men being pushed to? They are doing very well as a whole in our country and in fact many are in power and making the laws that govern millions of people that don't even look like them. I understand Americans wanting equal opportunity seems like white men being pushed aside but its absolutely not the same thing.

And you certainly have prove of biggotry for all the situations where a white male were hired to claim it was due to prejudice right? Or your argument just fit on one side?

We have had reports on this site of people not making on interview after they answered on the interview that a company shouldn't hire someone less qualified just because they are from a minority.

People have to stop saying that cuz most people in power are white that it means whites have power. That means nothing. Just a select group the majority o f the white men are the same as the majority of blacks and hispanics and whatever other group. Same economic blocks and suffer same hardships. An elite few does not determine the hardships of the majority.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

The product of the US's notoriously poor education system - maintaining the existence and popularity of a political party whose ideologies range between fear of boogeymen and the Dunning-Kruger effect.

That's why Donald Trump was such a big ticket, he is the epitome of these things.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
