Lets talk about how Scarlett Witch is powerful enough to simultaneously destroy an infinity stone/kill Vision, and hold back Thanos (who has all the other stones)......yet needs Cap and Black Widow to save her ass earlier in the movie from a couple scrub black order goons. Legit

All of her power is in using energy.  She's not nearly as good with someone in her face, especially if they take her by surprise.  Cap and Black Widow, on the other hand, are at their best when someone is up in their face.  Scarlett Witch is basically a glass cannon.

Almost everyone I've talked to has said this in some form or other, basically that the movie re-ignited their desire to ride the MCU train further and see where it goes, considering movies like Star Wars 8 pretty much wrapped up a lot of the stories I was interested in and basically gave me no hype for 9 at all... Infinity war has me counting the days until the next panel of this comic book story.

Part of my fanboyism causes me to just sigh at the idea of Captain Marvel film. Carol is not Mar-Vell. She can't stand up to him and reading her as 'Ms Marvel' all those years just kind makes me sad that a character that's held is such high regard in the MU won't ever be in the MCU because of Carol Danvers.

"Jude Law will portray Mar-Vell in the Marvel Studios film Captain Marvel, to be released in 2019". Wikipedia

Ever since Civil War they have established that she is both unexperienced and scared to use her powers because she blames herself for the death of all of those people in the building that she blew up.  So I kind of understand her not going full on power on those guys in the middle of the city.

Now, the scene with Thanos was totally different, there was absolutely no reason for her holding back.  On the contrary, she had all the reasons to let herself go all out.

Oh ya....they really establish her to be inexperienced and scared by having Hawkeye show up and tell her to "get off her ass," which prompts her to pile drive Vision 50 yards or so underground (while manipulating his infinity stone) for no real reason. Why are they even together all of a sudden? Other than "because they get together in the comics." Matter of fact, why does the same romance subplot of "you have to kill me if it comes to it!" exist twice in this movie? When the pacing is already this hectic, and you got this much shit going on, wtf is the point?

I also don't buy the whole emotional instability of Wanda. If she can muster the strength she needs to kill Vision, who she supposedly loves, then she can muster the strength/adrenaline response necessary to defend him in the middle of the movie.

Again, not the same thing.

On one scene you have the most powerful being in the universe walking at you with the intent to wipe out half the existence.

On the other you are all of a sudden fighting two totally unknown guys in the middle of the city and you have no idea how powerful they might be or what even are their abilities.

Now, don't get me wrong. I actually agree with you that power levels were all over the place through out the movie.  But I think that at least in Wanda's case, it was justifiable.

Hardly a spoiler. His casting wasn't even remotely secret

For me it was. For those who do not view any trailers, view any imdb page before, any wikipedia page, news sites, and are fanboys of the MU, even knowing a certain character is in a film is enough to be a spoiler for me (it's a problem. :P). I was on the edge of my seat during Winter Soldier Zola scenes, that thrill of not knowing then seeing it on screen is why are avoid all such things. The only thing I knew about Captain Marvel film up to this point was that it was being made. That's it.

Hmm, pie.

Maybe I'm too cynical, but the part where all the heroes turned to dust didn't get any reaction from me since it's obvious they will all return at the next movie as they're not really dead. Not even when Spider-Man dissipated, which is the moment that got a lot of people. The one scene that got me was when Thanos kills Loki at the beginning, and when Tony was stabbed because I genuinely thought he was going to die.

That did get me the most out of everyone. Most of the other characters are seasoned veterans and they probably have come to terms with the fact being a superhero can mean death down the line but Spiderman is young and still reckless. He's not ready to die, he probably never really thought about it. Plus Tom Holland really sells it well, A+ performance there! "I don't wanna go Mr. Stark"

Not to mention that during Civil war he didn't want to leave to join the fight... because he had homework and didn't wanna fall behind in his school work or his aunt would give out to him, this isn't a God, this isn't a head of a multibillion dollar company... he's just a poor kid with powers and a suit he doesn't know how to use. He's line of "what are those!!!" at the extra legs on the suit sold how he was out of his depth in more ways than just his age.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

As a movie it sucks. As a long ass TV episode tying together 10 years/ 18 stories together it is incredible.

One thing that sucks though is you pretty much need to see every other MCU movie before it to know what the hell is going on. The only MCU movies that you can ignore for this film are Iron Man 3 (even though its my favorite one of that trilogy) and Ant-Man (I really wanted him in the movie).

It sucks that Spiderman died. At least it was random chance and not the fact that he decided to tag along and got killed in battle. Also I just can't come to grips with all of these people breathing in space and on other planets.
