Not particularly surprising at all. God of War has never been a big series in Japan. The fact that the FW sales of the recent iteration were slightly higher than GoW 3 (the previous high seller of the series) without digital means that it performed rather well.

Pretty good start for Labo variety. But dang those Switch sales. I thought they'd go at least over 40,000 with the Labo launch. And that's still over 50% of the total hardware sales? Dang. Also surprised the Robot kit did that poorly. I that that would be more popular in Japan.

Is switch still supply strained? Or is demand just falling?

Dunno, but it seems strange, that the release of Labo with 90K (+25K) did nothing for hardware. Pretty unlikely all the Labo-purchasers already had Switches. I don't understand anything here-

PS4 revovered a bit but still second worst week this year. (Same for XBOX ONE btw)
New yearly lows for Switch , 3DS and Vita

GoW did not much as expected. Needs to be set in Japan to be sucessful. :D
Labo did nothing for Switch Hardware which is suprising me but 90k is not too bad all things considered

Lets see how its legs will be. I expect a strong christmas period.

GoW looks like it was too expect, actually a bit stronger than GoW III. I wasn't sure what to expect from Labo, these numbers seem OK, but legs are most telling. The hardware sales are a mystery though. For everything.

God of war 3 43k
God of war 46k excluding digital.

I'd guess 60k vs 43k and then better legs. Time will tell but I think God of war did decent in Japan.

60K assumes a bit high digital rate for my taste, but generally it did a bit better than GoW III. If this applies to the world, this might be breaking 5 million sold copies.

It is unlike Sony to have supply constraints for this long. Something doesn't add up. Also, this is about as far GoW will go in Japan. There is just no appeal in that market.

Yeah, the hardware is strange. Both PS4 and Switch. Expected more from new releases.

GoW did pretty well for a game in this series.

Im hoping for a PS4 Super Slim at $249.99, ill pick one up this holiday if that happens.

I was thinking a slim version of PS4 PRO for$299 and that would be the only PS4 available

I don't disagree they might have a new ps4 Pro slim like you said but the current shortages are for the regular slim not the pro which suggests it's the most likely to get a new model. Now it's very possible they'll announce a pro slim and a ps4 super slim.

Not a big surprise FW was mostly existing Switch owners, word of mouth and holidays are what will cause it to sell to new customers.

Nintendo should do a LABO Switch bundle.

I...I...I'm at a loss for words. For something that's $70 cardboard...

Not sure why people keep uttering the same nonsensical rhetoric

I know it's not $70 cardboard, but that's what a lot of people still think. The software in LABO is well worth at least $40.

It's just people who don't like Labo tearing it down to its most base and simplistic form in order to deride it.  Personally, I see it as Mario Paint for a new generation since both products are geared more towards creative people who are willing to make their own fun.

That's Japan and its dislike of Western games for you. You can be the game of the generation so far and still be looked over. The positive is that it is the biggest GoW debut in Japan.

I feel like a decade ago we were seeing these same arguments about things like Wii Fit or Guitar Hero.

"$90 for a plastic bathroom scale!?!?!"

$80 for a cheap, plastic guitar!?!?!"
