guys... if you want the same exact game with minimal changes, just buy the remasters

i at least want a new take on the old game. it should look on the tv exactly how our imagination perceived it to be back in 97

obviously more with an advent children vibe than the actual game back in the ps1

just let them implement their vision, the will be plenty of time to criticize after the game is out

I don't get people complaining about SE making drastic changes to the original game, especially since we haven't even seen how most of those changes actually look and feel in the game. The original still exists, so you can play that as much as you want. I'd much rather they do something new with the remake than just keep treading old ground and play everything safe.

I agree with this. I didn't see anyone saying they wanted a re-imagining.

When people set out to re-invent the wheel they come to realise it's a perfect design already. Making it hexagonal doesn't really make it go smoother.

But alas, i love FF7 and i sincerely hope they manage to recapture its magic. But, i'm worried. Especially cause FFXIII and FFXV are canine poop.

Nothing that they have said or done so far has made me not excited for this game. As soon as KH3 is done with, I just know we will be getting a ton of news.

Yeah, its done the same for me. Every time they've talked about it, my excitement,anticipation and hope for a quality product drops. But I believe they said we won't see anything of significance in related to FF7R until KH3 is released, so at least that confirmed that much. So that means either later this year we'll see something or sometime in 2019 if KH3 is delayed

I'd think that's beyond obvious at this point, they're just trying to talk out their ass to buy time.I will have completed my Masters degree by the time FFVII R releases. I'm just going to put this in the back of my conscience for now.

FF VII is too big in scope to be remade in present day and age. It will be only FF VII or is SE planning to remake VIII and IX?

Its absurd how Square mismanaged FF and KH. KH was a smash hit and they destroyed its momentum by focusing on making too many spin-offs for too many plataforms, I dont know what they were thinking. I still believe that of Square focused on making KH 3 instead of spin-offs we could have gotten KH3 last gen.

I just hope that when they remake FF IX they just do the sensible choice to just up polycount, increase the pixels, improve texture and revamp the CGIs... just touch up the graphics and keep everything else just as is, perhaps 1-2 years dev time.

Square hasn’t made a good game in over a decade in my opinion. I’m sure the only improvement this game will offer is better graphics. Everything else they do will mostly like be a significant downgrade. I have no faith in squares ability to make “improvements”... they lost sight of how to make fun games a long time ago....
