yep easily the best looking game ever made, I have seen some great looking games on pc at 4k but god of war on the pro on a 4k hdr tv looks absolutely amazing! easily the best looking game to date. This shows how talented sony's devs are and they know how to use the ps4 to its full potential unlike micorsoft and their lame ass devs not able to take full advantage of the one x just look at forza 7 for example.

Just wait until the last of us 2 drops! It will look even better imo. Sony just have amazing developers on their side right now, people that know exactly what they're doing. Xbox is a failing system.

I agree with what you have stated here but honestly, don't expect Last of Us 2 to look THAT much better. GOW is just s slight step above Horizon. Everything Horizon didn't have, like particular particle effects or other tiny details GOW has - that is the difference. Texture work and artwork is on par I'd say. Overall, of course GOW to me stands out more because the world is just so much more appealing to me.

sorry I didn't reply sooner, got a temporary ban for supposedly trolling! .

Just have to wait and see if sony releases game play of the last of us 2 at E3 this year, but from looking at the cut scene trailer it looks incredibly real, god of war does look amazing but it's more of an art style type game same goes for horizon zero dawn, they don't have pure realism sometimes look a bit cartoony in a way, well, apart from kratos ect who looks amazingly good.

Compared to Zelda BotW:

If Zelda BotW would have an interesting story and characters it most certainly would improve the game. On the other hand, if God of War would be fully open-world game it most likely would make the game worse.

I would say that interesting story and characters are the hardest part to achieve when making a game. And the level of graphics/environment detail that God of War has is more impressive than BotW. Gameplay/combat is great in both.

So to me God of War easily beats BotW.

"The rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

- Single-player Game

wonderful gameplay have many games. but combinated with an exciting story with interesting characters, good dialogues and impressive staging - only a few games have that. God of War has it all. (also other games like Metal Gear Solid 3, Yakuza 2, Persona 5)

So, the chance is big for "game of generation". But "The Last of Us 2" and "Death Stranding" is coming

Death Stranding, PS4-Release: November 8! The Last of Us2 + FF7Remake = First 2020 Quarter

I’m just getting to the end of Alfhiem, I’m really enjoying the game and the Norse mythology lore, it’s something I’ve always been into big time (I have many books on the subject of the Norse gods and stories) I’m really taking my time and taking in the environments it’s truly a beautiful looking game.

The slight problem I have with it is the levelling up and experience is fixed. It seems once you’ve fought one set of enemies they never reappear so you can’t grind out extra XP. It’s only a slight con I have and it isn’t ruining the experience

I'm still looking at playthroughs, but I'm not really feeling GOW yet. I get a RE4 vibe in terms of potential greatness what with the way the camera and pacing of some battles play out, but with hack and slash that looks like it could get overly repetitive.

The gameplay is definitely not generic hack and slash. The combat is way more complex and super satisfying where each encounter is like a mini boss fight. I would rate the difficulty on par with something like Dark Souls. All in all, it's no doubt one of the best games out there.

Well..... I'm not so sure about that one. God of War has checkpoints after every encounter, and many between encounters as well. God of War is not Dark Souls, nor should it be. Why do so many games get compared to Dark Souls?

Enemies do reappear as you back track but they end up being a higher level and very difficult to beat (on difficulty 3 anyway, or even balanced depending on you level) unless you are coming back later in the game. Experience isn't an issue in this game as long as you aren't trying to over level like a JRPG, in fact even after maxing out dozens of runics, all skills and what not I was bathing in surplus EXP from mid to late game, the level locking being the barrier and not the ammount of EXP. It's hack silver and mats you need to be weary of running out of.

I just finished the game on Sunday, and I did a fair bit of exploration. It probably took me 50 or 60 hours to beat. I don't think the enemies respawn in this game. There are certain areas where enemies will reappear, but I think those places are manually scripted to re-appear there. Once killed a second time, they are gone for good. I never found a place where I could consistently grind, but nor would I have wanted to. By the end of the game I had a quarter million XP saved up and a half million hacksilver. Is XP good for anything besides skills and runic abilities?

Nah, not that I recall but there are a fuck ton of runic abilities to be found and Atreus summons which you can feed exp into. It's pretty insane the amount of combat skills that are hidden in this game or tied to side content. One of the reasons I made a thread stating this games side content is up there with the wither 3's as EVERYTHING ties back to the main game and is ever so rewarding.

And yeah, the enemies on back tracking a presets. I think they made the right call not allowing that kind of JRPG over level grinding, it's pretty perfectly balanced between the difficulties although I haven't tried the easiest one and if you are playing on the higher difficulties grabbing those summons, talismans and runics, taking close notice to their substats and switching them out for certain encounters is a must.

What difficulty did ya beat the game on at 50ish hours? And are you going to run through the end game stuff?

Fuck it, I'm going to give into addiction and run through the game again on the highest difficulty. Backlof and gaming time be dammed.
