We have to keep in check of being to preposterous because we can see what happened to "Switch will always win"...

And of course we can keep verifying that PS4 wasn't really affected by Switch, still we may see a price cut this year to keep it from slowing sales.

Honestly, I disagree with the price cut.  Okay so yes eventually, but not until October.  First now, PS4 will float with GOW and Spiderman.  Speaking of which, one wonders if Sea of Theives gave Xbox a boost.  Sony may be able to hold out until Smash comes out.  And if it comes out holiday, yes they lower the price and ride that wave.

I was talking about holidays.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Impressive by the PS4 and xbox one. PS4 will by +Y/Y with April and GOW, can't wait for those numbers. As for the Switch, while it had a decent month, its hard to place it in the upper echelon of Nintendo consoles. The Wii was clearing 700k a month by this time in its lifecycle

So!? PS4 sold 330k in second March and next year will pass Wii LT sales, 310k for Switch in March is very good number in any case.

Hmm, I guess the S and X are doing pretty well then. Game Pass and backwards compatibility may be helping it too.

The PS4 slim being 299$ vs the Xbox One S being 239$.....
Xbox has been selling their console 50-60$ cheaper than the PS4 for months now.
Price point has be part of the reason why.

I disagree. There’s been a gapping price gap for like 2-3 years but that hasn’t helped Xbox much. Look at last year up until the holidays Xbox was having an absolutely terrible year. Then X came. If I’m not mistaken since November hasn’t Xbox actually outsold ps4?

I’d say without the x Xbox would be flat more or less. I think having the best version of every muliplat game is giving Xbox a much needed boost.too bad the darn thing is 499. Hopefully they cut to 399 at e3.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Excellent victory for the ps4

60 dollars more expensive than the xb1 and mlb out selling sea of thieves at retail. Sony must be happy.

Next month is all about god of war!

remember when the switch was going to win every month unless PS4 had a big exclusive game release. i do.  four wins in the last five months now for PS4

Some people said the switch would beat PS4 globally in 2017, so you can bet there was someone that said what celador claims.

XBO doing really well this year, Fortnite is a silent hardware pusher for both PS4 and XB imo

If we go by that logic, many said Switch would flop, one person even towards the end of 2017 claimed it would do worse Wii U (think he switched it the gamecube shortly after).

PS4 won month but bery good sales overall
Switch sold better in February than it did in January, and now better in March than it did in February.

PS4 did have big exclusive releases though. Monster Hunter and Far Cry are big exclusive games when last I checked.

Regardless, congrats to the PS4 still doing very well in its twilight years.

Switch is certainly not falling off any cliffs though. Any data to show comparison with PS4 1st/2nd year for the month ?
