Forums - Gaming Discussion - Call of Duty Black Ops IIII Development Is A Disaster

There is a new rumor thats saying that Cod Black Ops 4 multiplayer does not feel like CoD and is more like Overwatch. The leak also says perks and streaks were taken out but testers did not like it so they are now rebooting the multiplayer.

“New Multiplayer information has been confirmed by more than one source so I can now talk about that more publicly. As of two days ago Multiplayer was in the worst state you have ever seen a Call of Duty multiplayer mode. Sources who have play-tested the mode claim that it is less like a call of duty mode and more like a Call of Duty Overwatch or a Call of Duty Lawbreakers. The Lawbreakers reference is incredibly apt considering what he told me next. Remember how I said the game was simultaneously boots on the ground and advanced movement? Well I can elaborate on that a little more too. The game was going to take the “hero” or “specialist” system from Black Ops 3 and take it to the next level. Perks were basically removed completely, and had instead been morphed into a strange kind of Kill Streak. Normal Killstreaks as we know them, for example harrier jets or chopper gunners, didn’t in fact exist in this version of Black Ops 4. Instead you got highly powerful perks. One of which was a Movement Alteration. It literally changed your movement from Boots on The Ground to something very strongly resembling Black Ops 3’s advanced movement systems.

This fell flat with playtesters. They didn’t like it at all. It was deemed an unfair portrayal of Call of Duty, and something that wouldn’t resonate with fans in the slightest. So, as of the last play test, things are changing. Actual Killstreaks are being entered into the game and the hero systems are being scaled back a little bit. What this does mean is that the game is in fact beginning to resemble more and more the state of the game in Black Ops 3. What this means for the future of BO4 I do not know. Currently my information does not stretch to what the mode will become, only to what it very recently was. With the community reveal only weeks away I am truly concerned for Call of Duty Black Ops 4, and even more concerned for Treyarch as a development studio. This is tighter than it has ever been.” Source

So what we know from leaks is that there is no campaign, the battle royale mode is having problems fitting more than 20 people and that the Black Ops 4 multiplayer does not feel like CoD so its getting rebooted 5 months from release. This all sounds like a disaster and as someone that loves the CoD IP and plays them every year i hope someone this game ends up being good because if Treyarch fucks up CoD will take a big hit and it will be worse than Infinite Warfare.

Watch your mouth there Jason

If internet rumor says it's true then it must be so.

Call of Duty has been a "disaster" since after World at War in my opinion anyway... and if they made a Call of Duty game that plays more like Overwatch I'd probably buy it since it's my favourite FPS in a long time, lol :P

If you want Overwatch then play Overwatch.

There is still a chance that it culd be fake but CharlieIntel are very reliable when it comes to information of CoD.

If you want a battlegrounds game play PUBG intead of Fortnite? Overwatch is a hero shooter, if Call of Duty wants to go in that direction, I'll happily give it a chance, but if it wants to stay how it is, the same old thing every game with a few minor changes here and there, then I'm not really interested, lol.

The thing is that the CoD community does not want any dreastic changes. Advanced Warfare and BO3 had the new futuristic movements and people thought those games did not feel like CoD. Infinite Warfare went further into the future with wacky new weapons and people hated how it fel more like titanfall than CoD. WW2 changed how the class system works and made it into divisions with certain abilities instead of the class system and the hate got so bad that Slegdehammer had to revamp the whole division system to make it more like older CoD games. If CoD Bo4 feels like Ovrwatch and not like CoD the series will take a big hit. The fanbase likes to have some change but nothing to drastic. If tey had the multiplayer exactly like BO3 but slowed down the advanced movements so it's very similar to older CoDs, and they can add a battle royale mode that does not affect the rest of the multiplayer that would be enough change to make the CoD community happy.

How is it clickbait? The devlopment of the game is a disaste.

So first the f*ck the single-player part of it and now they also screw the multi? If true, it will be fun to see how this year's edition performs at retail .
