Bingo. Except I'd say, MS better be prepared to take it (the loss in overall profitability, by far, to Sony and PS3) because their viral marketing campaign earned them every bit of derision they get now, after making PS fans suffer for a couple years. Some MS fans, too, deserve the delicious reversal we've seen. Only some..they know who they are, and they mostly hide now, rather than post, across the Internet.

I used to read Hi Def Digest forums and it was funny how at one point the HD-DVD crowd was really rabid and dominant. In time, they were broken completely by reality and the BDA. Parallel?


I agree, some MS/360 fanboys deserve to have the PS3's success rubbed in their face for a while. I can't believe some people last year were calling the PS3 "dead" and proclaiming it to be the next 3DO, it was the most insane criticism of a console I've ever seen.  The tables have really turned, especially since 2008 started.

Haha, yeah the HD-DVD crowd really were rabid, just like the N64 crowd, just like the Dreamcast crowd and just like the Xbox 360 crowd........and Sony soon shut them all up. History always seems to repeat itself with PlayStations........

I got the when it launched, Nov. 2006.

I got my xbox360 9 months later.

 

I don't just have wii sports, look at my real gaming collection dim-wit.

Most of these haters come from Europe and France in particular. I dont know why but I checked this out.
Japanese don t like the Xbox because they re protectionist. They did the same with the 3DO vg system.

Probaly because Sony fans were so cocky before the PS3 was released thinking it would own all, then it was released, and it was like a year of torture for them getting bashed by most 360 and Wii owners.

Now that PS3 can stand on it's own two feet, is beating 360 in sales, they are getting some revenge.

i wouldn't say i'm a "hater" but generally, i dislike the xbox idea, since, it's clear that they make the consoles just for money, where Nintendo really makes the difference!!

how can they simply make a remote for xbox360??
come on, for god's sake, don't they have a brain??
(a brain in order to think of something NEW on their own)

I can see how the Red Ring of Death could make someone bitter towards the company.

Also, even in America, a lot of people on the internet hate, hate, hate Microsoft. It's just something some people are raised to believe.

Good question.
I would assume that only PS3 fans hate 360 cause they lost a lot of gamers.
For microsoft to come into the gaming industry so late and do so well doesn't fit well with Sony fans.

Oh, and some really hate microsoft.

I don't know which forums you're talking about. But here's what I could say:

1. A lot of people are big PS2 fans and didn't like the original Xbox, so they feel obligated to hate the 360.

2. In Vgchartz, for one, a lot of users come from Spanish speaking countries (where Nintendo and Sony are popular) or European countries (where Sony and Nintendo are both far more popular than Microsoft). If you go to a site like Gamefaqs, with lots of American users, you will notice a lot of love for the 360. Not the same on this site.

For myself, I don't hate microsoft, it just whole rrod, disk scratching and x-mote, really pissed me of. Like sony's having, no rumble and limited bc, and price. Now sony are on my good side again.
