Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox One is the best console if you don't care about exclusive new games - The Verge

This thread is a nice watch, but if you actually own something from Microsoft, it should be a Xbox 360 and nothing else.

I don't regret getting my OG Xbox and Xbox One.

[OFF TOPIC] Why does the CSS of this forum never loads? I tried multiple browsers, the same with my friends. And what I have is a wrecked page.

[ON TOPIC] Xbox clearly made some great achievements with backwards compatibily, X1X, and game pass. But sorry, I rather keep my Persona 5, Uncharted, God of War, Spider-Man, Ratchet & Clank, etc.

You should post that in this thread:

I don't understand titles like that.

It assumes that if something is an exclusive it is automatically not going to be interesting to a certain demographic of people. It would be one thing if it said "If none of the current exclusives..." but even that doesn't make sense. Who's to say that someone who enjoys Assassin's Creed won't enjoy Horizon? Or that shooter fans won't care about Days Gone?

So if you only care about a mass amount of old games - playable on old systems, the xb1 is the best system?
Did Phil write this? Is Sam Byford secretly Aaron or Phil?

What a disaster of an article.

Please knock off the "keep old systems to play old games" crap. Some of like like having one box for anything rather than owning and changing from three different boxes all the time.

What a disaster of a post.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Actually, I tend to get multiplats on PS4 with a few exceptions (Minecraft because of the new patch and Saints Row IV because everything is on disc), but if Splinter Cell does come out I'll get the XB1 version since I strongly associate that series with the Xbox

I actually agree. Almost everything is better on Xbox (compared to PS4) except the most important thing: the games.

Games is subjective of course.

The UI is better, the controller is better, the online subscription package is better, the BC is far better. But games trump all, and that's why Xbox One is inferior to PS4.

I personally believe the User Interface to be a convoluted mess on Xbox.

The Xbox One controller I like for FPS gaming, but when it comes to games like fighters... Give me a Playstation controller, I like the Symmetrical stick layout for those.
What gives the Xbox One controller an edge over the Playstation 4 controller is the hot swappable AA batteries, don't have to deal with cables.

The User Interface is better? You can't be serious... The Xbox One's OS/UI is absolute cancer. It's not synergized, streamlined, or user friendly at all.

I'd have an easier time navigating the Xbox dashboard if it was designed like the Labyrinth board game rather than how Microsoft created it...

It really is terrible and has been a complaint of mine for years.
My neighbor actually sold their Xbox One and got a Playstation 4 because the User Interface was confusing for her kids.

It would be hilarious if XB1 only played games from one console.  Considering XB1 plays 3 consoles worth of games though, means it's a lot better than a PS4.  PS4 library vs. XB1 library?  Got to give it to PS4.  But (XBox1 + 360 + original) vs. PS4?  Now PS4 kind of sucks.

It doesn't play 3 consoles worth of games.
It plays 1 consoles worth of games, with a selection of games from another two consoles.

If we're talking about the original OS, maybe: it was slow, clunky, unattractive. But the October update made the experience a lot snappier and smoother. I appreciate the pins system, the horizontal guide layout, and the "my games & apps" shortcut. I feel like everything is at my fingertips from the home page.

It's still a convoluted mess. There is stuff everywhere.

UI and controller is very subjective and I wholeheartedly disagree. The X1 UI terribly cluttered and the X1 controller just feels cheap on the buttons and triggers and has way lesss functionality.

The Triggers and Buttons I actually like on the Xbox One controller, they are responsive and have some good feedback.
I don't like that glow or short battery life on the Playstation 4 controller though.

For those of us that aint loners, splitscreen on a pc is a bit rare

Just stop doing that downplay its getting boring you did that years back aswell

Even on console split screen games are becoming Rare.

Consoles are defined by exclusives. Without those, PC is superior, every single time.

PC has exclusives though.

Could the anti microsoft force on this site get even more toxic/desperate by downplaying this... the hate is amazing

Like I said in another thread a couple of days ago, Xbox is now lower valued than women on this site. Meaning that sexism has a higher chance to get someone moderated than Xbox trolling, and the chances to get moderated for sexism are... well... low.

I can say without fear that Xbox is the best box.

How dare you be sexist , I don't know what slang Austrians use for a woman's vagina but  box is one of many used in Australia.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

I now default to the One X for third-party games. While I think MS has been slack on the exclusives front, the One X is a solid piece of hardware, plus I play a ton of Halo (hopefully we see something Halo 6 related at E3). I also always preferred Xbox gamepads. But Sony definitely does a much better job on the exclusives front. GoW will probably be my next purchase.

There are rumors going around that a Halo spinoff is being worked on so were probably gonna get that before Halo 6.
