Indeed, I also think the ability that you can change your username/play Bc games/Early access games that may end up being multiplatform but in cases like subnautica take years to release on PS4 (and it still did not release)/refund games/gamepass/ makes it an more enjoyable console user experience.

It's a point of view that is as good as any other. But it's also subjective.
Personally I don't care about changing my user name, if I did not like my user name I would have not chosen it.
BC games are nice for those who care but I don't. If I still wanted to play PS3 games I would simply not have sold my PS3 but when I chose to sell it I did to buy a PS4 and I got a PS4 because I want to play PS4 games and not PS3 games... In those rare occasions I would want to play again an old game, Sony often provides remasters and remakes, like Shadow of the Colossus, so much more beautiful compared to the original, why would I want to play the original when I can play the much better looking new version.
Early access/beta versions don't interest me. I enjoy fully finished games, I'm a gamer, not a beta tester. And in a day and age where even fully finished games still need patches, the last thing in the world I'll ever care to go for is early access games.
As for refunding games, I honestly don't know how that works with the PS4 cause I never had to worry about that. I am well informed before purchasing a game so I never purchased a game I ended up not liking cause I don't random purchase games.
As for Gamepass well I guess it would be a great feature if applied to the amazing PS4 catalog though I can understand that Gamepass would make no sense for Sony and if there was a Gamepass on the PS4 I am certain there would not be all the amazing games we have. What would be the incentive for Sony to invest in so many good games if they were all to go for 10 dollars/month? I think a Gamepass deal is just that company telling you "we don't have too many good games and we don't plan to spend billions in making great games so we have a deal for you: for 10 bucks go ahead and pick up whatever you can find in our catalog".
Everyone has their own reasons to choose one system over another of course so these are my reasons for my choices.
