Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Dark Souls Switch delayed to Summer 2018

Game after game after game indeed Bandai.

Seriously, this is just pitiful. The remaster barely looks like a remaster on Switch.

Do you think the other versions look like a remaster?

I'm just glad they didn't delay the other versions because 1 of them wasn't ready. Good move on their part. But it's weird how Nintendo got to reveal this and now will have to wait.

This is quite unfortunate for anyone who was going to get the Switch version, but doesn't personally affect me since I was always going to get the PS4 versions anyway. Still, it's not such a huge delay in the end.

It isn't that bad if you compare it to the new DQ, it is just a couple of months.

Clearly, they need more time to produce dem Solaire amiibo.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

This destroys our opportunity to do a direct 1v1 for the Switch market.

Sigh it's hard to keep high faith in some third party's when it comes to Switch. Sure it's leaps and bounds ahead of Wii U, but things on this kinda line just keep happening. Aw well, thank goodness for such amazing 1st Party support to keep these things from having as much of a detrimental impact.

People had their hopes up too high if they ever expected the Switch to become the primary destination for third-party support.

Yes, actually, they do.  New textures, lighting, and a major performance bump.  Switch might have a TINY advantage in texture resolution over PS360, but other than that it's near identical just running at 1080p and a much more stable 30fps.  There's no spinning this, it's a screw up on someone's part.

Also, I doubt you would be so pleased if the PS4 got a delay and the others got out ahead.  Not that that would ever happen, they would delay them all first before they dared delay the PS4 version.

Getting one big third party support here and there is to get hopes too high? For every noteworthy game that the Switch gets(that is not first party), PS4 and XOne gets 10.

This is not asking too much.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Apparently expecting competent handling of last gen ports was too high a standard for Bandai...
