I hope for your own good that you will learn to lighten up and stop talking to others like that instantly.

lol wtf just happened

Apparently an alt-account used only for flaming attacked me because I made a joke.

OT: I'm not sure GoW2 will be on PS4 (it would release too close to the PS5), but I agree with you about HZD2 being a PS4 game (it must be in development already). GoW could get close to Uncharted and even beat it, it got massive coverage lately, is the only big game coming for a while, and with the new formula I think its appeal is wider.

It will sell better than uncharted 4. Especially if next year its bundled with teh PS4 the same way uncharted 4 was bundled.

God of War is iconic. In ways that Uncharted never was.

What really has me excited is that the way things are panning out, we could very well see GOW2 and Horizon 2 be launch or at least launch window titles for the PS5. Now that really would be something.

I actually believe both of those will release this gen.

About the GoW x Uncharted, well, GoW has always sold less than Uncharted, quite less actually.

I hope it does beat Uncharted 4, here in Brazil the series is very popular, but massively pirated xP

But I think there are major identifiable reasons for that. When you have games like the first three GoWs, with nudity and such an excessive level of violence and gore, that’s going to alienate a very large group of people. Tbh, I’m surprised GoW sold as much as it did. Ontop of that, in GoW 3, where they had potential for a lot of growth going from ps2 to ps3, the combat at that point, at least to some degree, felt a bit outdated.

Gow 3 sold close to what Uncharted 3 did (around 6mill), so that’s really not a big difference. But NOW, the new GoW has fixed all the negatives of the other GoW games, so I think it can absolutely outsell Uncharted 4.

I'm not sure what to expect for GoW's sales though. Looking at VGChartz pre-orders, it's getting beat by MLB 18. And US makes up a larger percentage of GoWs sales compared to other Sony games. It should do 1.5 million first week including digital. 1.2 million on VGChartz.

First of all, going by VGC’s preorder chartz is a mistake. They are very inaccurate.

Secondly, 1.5 mill first week is a massive underestimate imo. Based on everything we’ve seen, I think 3-3.5mill is much more likely.

Yeah, I see it doing better to be honest, contrary to the first post. 3-3.5 mill though? We'll see.

Yeah, 1.5m is my first week guess too. If it hits 2m though, then all bets are off for how huge it will be lt.

My money is on 3M first week. And yes, I know the first week is just two days. Friday and Saturday.

There hasn't been a PS4 game with this level of hype leading onto release. Its like the game has taken a life of its own.

Maybe they both release this gen, but I can also see them be cross gen. Honestly though I just don't see them releasing this gen. That will mean they are unveiled sometime next year and then release in 2020. I expect the PS5 to come in 2020. I have a feeling that if they are gonna come in 2020? Sony will puah them to the PS5, even if 3-6 months later they come to the PS4.

I think that will be a trend for the first year or two of the PS5.

Originally, I was gonna wait til after it was released to let others test the water but with all the stellar reviews and info, I'm gonna get it day -1. I have it preorded.

I was gonna wait to use my 20% off PSN coupon.

Now I am looking at the game counting down and waiting for preload to start.

Meh.... I will just use the 20% coupon on GT Sport.

Uncharted has been on a constant rise.

1 sold 5.5M

2 sold 7.5M

3 sold 8.0M (confirmed to be 21M for the trilogy)

4 sold 10M+

GoW has never sold that much, has always been very hyped and high reviewed like that.

There is no indication GoW can outsell UC4, even as I sure hope it does.

U4 launched at about half the PS4 install base as GoW is launching and the review buzz wasn't quite on this level. GoW has hit the very rare 95 threshold, which is a big deal. U4 couldn't top U2 as the best reviewed in the franchise.

Assume a 80 base when it drops give or take. Are their any attach rate predictions out there. Anything higher than 10% will be absolutely massive.

The next big release after this is Detroit (May 25th), so it will also have practically no competition until then.

This is gonna be massive.

You all forgot that Gal Gun 2 is releasing April 24th. Kratos only has 4 days under the spotlight!

Oh, damn.

Rip GoW.  Hope you have a good 4 day run.

This God of War is much different though.

Old God of War games required support from the american audience mostly. The extreme violence and sexuality and the genre was more american oriented.

This one will appeal to both US and Europe fairly equally and is more mass market oriented. Violence toned down but much more fluid and pretty, with no sexuality, open world of course appeals to everyone. With the high reviews and hype it has a good chance to match U4.

Hold on, everything I’ve heard about U3’s sales on ps3 involved a number around 6.8 mill. Are you sure that 21mill number didn’t include the ps4 remaster?

Exactly. I’ve been saying the same things. And I made a thread about all the reasons why I think GoW will sell gangbusters (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=235469)
