Well, he was at the head of Crystal Dynamics for the Tomb Raider exclusivity deal with Microsoft so he must have a good number of contacts there. I'm just kind of surprised he stayed with Activision for such a short time.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Microsoft wanting their own Uncharted?

Lots of experiance on Tomb Raider titles for Square Enix.... decent grab.

Phil has said they where planning a game inspired by Horizon zero dawn.

Plus this:  https://www.kotaku.com.au/2017/06/job-listing-suggests-microsoft-is-working-on-a-horizon-zero-dawn-style-game/

If they started mid 2017.... then somewhere around 2022 ? so its a Xbox Two title.

I was referring to this:

“I’m a big fan of Uncharted,” said Spencer, “and I wish we had an action adventure game of that ilk. We’ve started some, and we’ve looked at them. But we don’t have one today of that quality."  https://venturebeat.com/2014/08/18/xbox-boss-on-uncharted/

Has some good history in the industry for sure. He will probably take the stage at Microsoft's E3 conference and introduce him self.

Sounds like a job with nothing but meetings. Goodluck with that.

The game history looks good, good titles there.

All of those Tomb Raider credits. This couldn't possibly lead to MS making Tomb Raider a permanent exclusive, could it?

More likely they'd put him in charge of a new studio that's working on the rumored new Perfect Dark. MS has spoken in the past of rebooting Perfect Dark in the style of the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot, in other words 3rd person action-adventure-stealth with a heavy cinematic focus, and this guy was head of Crystal Dynamics while the Tomb Raider reboot was in development, he's perfect for heading up the new Perfect Dark.

That actually sounds awesome.  I don't have an XBox, but I remember playing the original Perfect Dark on my N64, and that sort of re-envisioning would be amazing for that story.
