I will reserve any thoughts until E3, when a better educated opinion is available.

Terrible poll done by OP. So petty.

All the other years E3 didn't serve as parameter??? Because ever since gen start MS have been talking about increasing 1st party efforts to the same result.

300k in Japan. Sounds like some Japanese niche stuff to me.

Why are you always concerned about japanese things ?

You mean, more like, why is he always dismissing it?

But that's already on Xbox. So I don't really get the point...

Did Monster Hunter World outsell Halo 5 on the XB1? If so I didn't know that and congrats to Capcon. If its comparing all systems MHW is on to just Halo 5 on XB1 than its as simple as saying "TOYOTA sell more cars to Ferrari" comparisions.

At least , some jrpgs would outsell Xbox's biggest franchise .

So what is niche ?

Tell me Xbox people.

What's the difference in use  between niche games and not niche games ?

niche = I don't like

not niche = it sells good on my platform of choice

1st party games should have been the top priority. Until this happens with sustainability, Microsoft cannot be taken seriously as a gamer's platform.

And yet I’m a hardcore gamer and immensely enjoy my Scorpio and launch Xbone. I just don’t play many MS games on them. Just like my PS4 is also a third party software machine :)

But ?

you know what I mean.

I'm saying, most of the non-niche ones are already on Xbox. Final Fatasy (mainline), monster hunter world, resident evil, kingdom hearts 3, dragonball fighterz, tekken, soulcalibur, etc.

The only real exception would be street fighter, because Sony funded the game partially, and locked up exclusivity.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

So what's the difference  between niche games and not niche games ?

It depends on sales ? or nationality ?

There is something for everyone when you look at the offerings of all consoles combined.  And my statement was a general one.  But it's very obvious that both Nintendo and Sony are catering to the gamer more than Microsoft by focusing more on games that appeal to their audience while fitting their business agenda rather than trying to convince consumers to buy into their business agenda.

I remember x360 being way ahead from ps3 2005 - 2009. With tons of exclusives in rpg, fps, even rts. Whut happend?

Alot of those games werent made by MS themselves. Sony was getting their head out of their asses. While MS seemed to be putting their own ones in.

Seriously I think MS just reverted back to their natural state. I dont believe they ever truly cared about making games in the first place not in the way that Sony and definitely Nintendo does.
