Lol at people thinking Russia is a weak country in a direct conflict they've hardly ever lost keep telling yourself they're weak I bet the same people would have thought Vietnam and Somalia were weak as well when fighting broke out in those countries. Russia has a tonne of its own resources including oil this is why they can operate just fine even when sanctions are thrown at them and one reason they're such a big threat because they're pushing to drop the dollar when it comes to trade that's what it all comes down to.

All this back and fourth with both Russia and China just comes down to them wanting to drop the dollar in all trade and use a currency they prefer, problem is these two countries aren't safe targets like what Iraq and Libya were because they can actually strike at allied forces from where they're positioned otherwise a war with them would have already began.

Its always great pissing people like you off. One track and simple minded. Please just stay away from politics.

Pissed of? I'm not pissed, more like perfectly content with my life =)

But you're a racist.

Hopefully it's just like last time - a one-off set of targeted strikes to appease the warmongers.

I'm leaning towards thinking the alleged gas attack was a set up job because Assad was close to winning the war and Trump was about to end all American involvement, but I honestly don't know.

Even if definitively proved it was Assad I'd still oppose my country's intervention - it's simply not in our national interest to get involved and I'm sick of us spending a small fortune in money and lives getting involved in these Middle Eastern wars that have no 'good guys'. We just help turn these countries and their conflicts into even bigger messes than they already are - and for what? So our political class can preen themselves on the world stage? It pisses me off.

Just like Saddam.
The UK faked a intel report on behalf of the US to show he had weapons of mass destruction, then they went and invaded.
Now the country is worse off than it was back then. The US wanted controll of the oil fields.

America only cares about syria because they want to run a gas pipe through there from Qatar, so they can sell oil/gas to europe, as a way of attacking the russian economy.

So ofcourse russia is gonna back the guys saying "no" to the gas pipes, and ofc america is gonna side with the ones that want the pipe.

Its nuts.
This shouldnt lead to a war.... hopefully it doesnt.
The worse part imo, is all the refugee's europe has to take in, when america decided to start wars in the middleast.

The internet makes me sad.

This will not start WW3. Trump nor Obama support ISIS. The Russians are not good or bad, they are acting in their own self-interest just as we do.

The sentence that the US will surrender to globalism and become a socialist heaven is almost an oxymoron. Globalism is more often than not associated with the expanse capitalism.

Yep, globalism is pretty much all about capitalism and corporations like Nestle doing shady stuff in order to make as much money as possible.

if hitler had been successful in taking over the world and running the economies of those countries that would've been capitalist?

why do people that do not know what capitalism and socialism are keep talking like they do?

That's your opinion. He only allowed strikes on targets related to chemical weapons and didn't attack any russians. I never voted for him so the US would become a hermit nation. I voted for him on several issues. Most nations consider the usage of chemical weapons to be a red line. The US has to remain a global player.

There is no proof of Assad using chemical weapons the fact that Trump just a few days ago said he would not strike on Syria and all of a sudden last night he confirms the strike shows that somethings going on here. Trump is not dumb he knows damn well it wasn't Assads men who used chemical weapons, either Trump wants to push Russia into a war or he wants to give Syria to ISIS. My guess is both.

What chemical attacks? There was and still is no confirmation, it's all suspected. Why would they use chemical weapons when they'd already won? If there was a chemical attack last weekend Teresa May would have been the first to show the proof when announcing to the UK. Precision strikes are not fucking precise, even today. This is nothing more than a show to Russia. Don't believe the shite that this is a one time deal, Trumps composure with not one falter and no congress approval, it's all to obvious. This is an act of war against Russia plain and simple. Gritting my teeth while I wait for Russia's response.

Since they delayed any action while they were verifying it all then they suddenly strike buildings only related to chemical weapons, what does that tell you? Stop blowing this stuff out of proportion and think calmly. It's not WW3 or the end of the world.

Putin said that if US strikes they will respond, and they have every right to it because what Trump just did is prove that he doesn't want to pull out of Syria he wants to destroy the country even more and give it to ISIS.

Trump is a moron and a racist and anyone who votes for him is a terrible person, but there is no WW3 coming. There is something very fishy with this whole situation that I can't put my finger on, but there is definitely no WW3 on the horizon.

Also, it's the agenda of both Republicans and democrats to wage war since the 80's, the left is opposed to any war and would like to dismantle most of the military overseas.

Another CCN koolaid drinker yeah this must all be racism right?

Trump just spit in the face of everyone who believed in him.

He said voting for Hillary would mean WW3 now we're witnessing the beginning of WW3 and the end of Donald Trump. It seems like he was a leftist all along. apparently he supports ISIS who was funded by Obama. USA will surrender to globalism and will end up becoming a socialist heaven. I don't support communism but it seems like the Russians are the good guys here what a shame.

When looking at past events like the proxy wars in Vietnam or Russia's invasion of Afghanistan, the air-dropped supplies into west Berlin after it was cut off, the Cuban Missile Crisis/Bay of Pigs fiasco, or just the Cold War in general... it's pretty darn hasty to say that THIS will be what triggers WW3. It's certainly sketchy, but we've been through worse.

One thing to consider is that Russia is far weaker than most seem to realize and doesn't compare to the super power that was the USSR. Their economy has crumbled, they're under crippling sanctions, their relations with China have chilled, and really they are about as isolated diplomatically as they've been in many decades.

They still have a powerful military and navy, but their GDP has dropped from $2.2 trillion in 2013 to under $1.5 trillion today, and in nearly every meaningful way now sports an economy weaker than Canada (which is not to insult Canada which has something like 1/5 the population and isn't trying to sustain an enormous military and navy). The real question is whether they could deliver a non-nuclear knock out punch early, as they would not be able to sustain a prolonged war unless it remained localized.

Right now what we're seeing is a bunch of posturing and bluffing from those involved... it may look unfamiliar to us, but that's because it's not something we've really had to deal with since the Cold War where such things were a daily occurrence. The truth is no nation (outside of perhaps a neutral China sitting back and watching) would benefit from such a war, and so they're instead playing a game of chicken. Putin may be an asshole but he's not stupid, and I imagine he'll do his damndest to win this standoff without actually committing to a full-scale war, even if it involves some proxy attacks.

While you do have a point Russia still has a huge army and have ties with North Korea which could only lead to nuclear weapons being used. Even if WW3 doesn't happen what Trump just did was unAmerican and a stab in the back to the Russians who fought off AL-Qaeda and ISIS the same groups who were supported by Hillary and Obama, it's basically saying that he supports radical Islam.

these events have been planned for a long time... the only people who don't get that now are hopelessly naive

Some are saying that Trump was replaced by an AI robot or by a doppelganger during his speech.

Trump apologist are hilariously desperate to defend this guy what i've just witnessed is that Trump is just a two faced son of a bitch who loves to act tough on media but really is a pussy under pressure. So there is no money for a wall but there sure is money to bomb Middle Eastern countries where we have no business in the first place.

Too early to say hes gone just yet. We will see though.

He's gone in my book, whether WW3 happens or not Trump swore he would not mess any longer in Syria and what he just did was unAmerican and pretty much confirm he's a leftist who supports radical Islam and anyone who supports radical Islam needs to be locked up.

Keep watching your CNN and Comedy Central the Russians fought off ISIS and Al-Qaeda and actually support secular Islamic countries unlike Trump who has done nothing other than provoke the Russians into conflict.

I'm not saying it's WW3 but I can't take CNN or any of these media outlets at their supposed knowledge that Russia was informed before the attack, Trump or May would have said so up front. If Russia are saying they were informed, then I need confirmation out of the White house that that's the case. Some time needs to pass and the misinformation needs to be filtered, indeed but the whole situation is far too fishy if not it has been handled in the worst possible manner imaginable.

You forgot to photoshop a tin foil hat on Geralt.

Also people not to stop worrying about a "conflict" between Russia and Usa, if there ever will be one Russia dies in 2 seconds. People need to learn Russia is a weak country now where theirs GDP is lower than Italy's.

Russia may be weaker than US but they're still a major power who have ties with North Korea, the point is Trump should not have done that this is not what he stood for. What did Syria ever do to him or Americans? Of course nobody cares about Syria because we don't have to live any of the hell they're going through over there seeing their country getting destroyed and losing family members by foreign nations who are supposedly there for 'peace'.

This is so true ... (too many people overestimate the global impact of Russia)

The age of Russia or the USSR being a "superpower" are well past it's prime. Russia are making these moves not because they truly want to face the world but because they and Putin are desperate about preserving Russian history and culture where their nation is becoming more irrelevant in the past and coming years on the global stage ... (they desire to be isolationist to defend themselves, not to intentionally start wars)

Russia is arguably going to be more scared shitless of it's rising neighbor from the south than America since their an immediate threat at their doorstep when they will have enough geopolitical power to go around and start bullying everyone around it ...

Well if Trump can push around Russia then Turkey can push around Russia and if Turkey can then anyone can. Russians and Syrians have lost thousands of men fighting off ISIS, Al-Qaeda and Saudi Arabian invasion and this is how Trump shows his respects? Russia has every right to retaliate after this even if they end up losing hard they didn't ask for conflict.

That goes against you saying how you're for small government, and how the left equals more government while the right equals less government. In order to remain a global player and have a large presence worldwide it requires a huge budget, manpower and bureaucracy in order to maintain. Surely I'd assume someone who is against big government would be opposing this.

I'm at work and unable to watch the news but my wife is keeping me updated. She says the United States has violated international law and that Putin is demanding an emergency UN meeting.

Regardless of who we voted for and who we want to blame, we can all admit that the United States has done some things to antagonize other countries, over the last year.

-Recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel
-Stained our trade relations with China
-Insulted Mexico and other countries (calling them "shit holes")
-Launched missiles in Syria twice, at the behest of Russia.
-Constantly threatened North Korea

These are scary times. I live in America and it's a bubble. I wonder how other countries see us now. I just don't know.

Yeah, I know it sounds strange to think that a person is a terrible individual if he/she supportd an openly racist, misogynist power hungry man with fascist tendencies. Very strange indeed.

Are you retarded or what? Russians have 1 200 000 army and something like 70 000 tanks, not to mention nuclear weapon, how do you imagine ending them in 2 seconds? Who will go to Russia and kill them all? You kid? Lol
