Trump is a moron and a racist and anyone who votes for him is a terrible person, but there is no WW3 coming. There is something very fishy with this whole situation that I can't put my finger on, but there is definitely no WW3 on the horizon.

Also, it's the agenda of both Republicans and democrats to wage war since the 80's, the left is opposed to any war and would like to dismantle most of the military overseas.

Its always great pissing people like you off. One track and simple minded. Please just stay away from politics.

That's your opinion. He only allowed strikes on targets related to chemical weapons and didn't attack any russians. I never voted for him so the US would become a hermit nation. I voted for him on several issues. Most nations consider the usage of chemical weapons to be a red line. The US has to remain a global player.

What chemical attacks? There was and still is no confirmation, it's all suspected. Why would they use chemical weapons when they'd already won? If there was a chemical attack last weekend Teresa May would have been the first to show the proof when announcing to the UK. Precision strikes are not fucking precise, even today. This is nothing more than a show to Russia. Don't believe the shite that this is a one time deal, Trumps composure with not one falter and no congress approval, it's all to obvious. This is an act of war against Russia plain and simple. Gritting my teeth while I wait for Russia's response.

Hopefully it's just like last time - a one-off set of targeted strikes to appease the warmongers.

I'm leaning towards thinking the alleged gas attack was a set up job because Assad was close to winning the war and Trump was about to end all American involvement, but I honestly don't know.

Even if definitively proved it was Assad I'd still oppose my country's intervention - it's simply not in our national interest to get involved and I'm sick of us spending a small fortune in money and lives getting involved in these Middle Eastern wars that have no 'good guys'. We just help turn these countries and their conflicts into even bigger messes than they already are - and for what? So our political class can preen themselves on the world stage? It pisses me off.

Exactly this, why would they use chemical weapons when they already had control. It's a very thinly veiled lie. Perhaps, it is a once off strike, a show before Russia get in to deep. dammit, I hope so. This would make sense.

Since they delayed any action while they were verifying it all then they suddenly strike buildings only related to chemical weapons, what does that tell you? Stop blowing this stuff out of proportion and think calmly. It's not WW3 or the end of the world.

I'm not saying it's WW3 but I can't take CNN or any of these media outlets at their supposed knowledge that Russia was informed before the attack, Trump or May would have said so up front. If Russia are saying they were informed, then I need confirmation out of the White house that that's the case. Some time needs to pass and the misinformation needs to be filtered, indeed but the whole situation is far too fishy if not it has been handled in the worst possible manner imaginable.

You forgot to photoshop a tin foil hat on Geralt.

Also people not to stop worrying about a "conflict" between Russia and Usa, if there ever will be one Russia dies in 2 seconds. People need to learn Russia is a weak country now where theirs GDP is lower than Italy's.

This is so true ... (too many people overestimate the global impact of Russia)

The age of Russia or the USSR being a "superpower" are well past it's prime. Russia are making these moves not because they truly want to face the world but because they and Putin are desperate about preserving Russian history and culture where their nation is becoming more irrelevant in the past and coming years on the global stage ... (they desire to be isolationist to defend themselves, not to intentionally start wars)

Russia is arguably going to be more scared shitless of it's rising neighbor from the south than America since their an immediate threat at their doorstep when they will have enough geopolitical power to go around and start bullying everyone around it ...

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't blowing up chemical plants rather bad for the environment and any people in the area. The strike may be precise, yet where's that cloud of chemicals going...

The internet makes me sad.

This will not start WW3. Trump nor Obama support ISIS. The Russians are not good or bad, they are acting in their own self-interest just as we do.

The sentence that the US will surrender to globalism and become a socialist heaven is almost an oxymoron. Globalism is more often than not associated with the expanse capitalism.

Yep, globalism is pretty much all about capitalism and corporations like Nestle doing shady stuff in order to make as much money as possible.

I think because of fire (i.e explosion) then the risk is minimal.

I'm a massive trump hater, but the one and only thing I like about him (and its a stretch) is that he's not conventional. Russia has been really flexing its muscles for the last few years doing things that it shouldn't (assassinations, invading countries, providing support to some very dubious organisations), and getting away with it. Unfortunately most western powers all they can do is put in sanctions. So at least in this way there is some retaliation for the disgusting things that are happening with Russia's help.

I've seen idiots like Nicola Sturgeon moaning that we shouldn't do it, and David Miliband waffling on about we should be using diplomacy and that hipster fool Corbyn basically say we should never get involved in anything to do with Russia (him being a communist probably is the reason), but this has been going on for 7 years. This is at least the 2nd time they've used chemical weapons. At some point you have to say, yes we could just sit at home feeling comfortable and do nothing (and to be fair I can understand that feeling after messing up Iraq) but at what point do you sit up and say, we cannot be scared anymore, we cannot let these things continue, Russia and its allies are really doing some very bad things.

The irony is that western governments probably are not trying to get rid of Syria's leader at this point (that was lost when the rebels were in-fighting and got pushed back), but when Syria do things like this it means we get involved.

I really wish that some people would stop with this "you're a terrible person because you voted for x person".

Trump made healthy nationalism and criticism against mass immigration a top issue in politics for years to come, and that's an important legacy he will leave, but this immoral decision of US missile strikes marks the end for Trump's political career.

The approval of these criminal missile strikes is a fatal consequence of Trump's erratic and emotion-driven character. Today he showed how out of touch he is with the will of the American people, and he blatantly broke his promise to stop US involvement in foreign conflicts.

It's really outrageous that out of all possible conflicts to meddle in he chose one of the worst, to support the cruel and immoral rebel faction who staged a faked chemical attack. Trump supports islamic terrorists fighting the Syrian government. Which is so damn sad when we finally were so close to see an end to the Syrian war, where the Syrian government were so close in defeating the insurgents, bringing peace and stability to this war-torn country.

It's a huge disgrace. Trump will be severely punished for this by the voting base.
