ps3/360 successors were out that holiday, so obviously we weren't gonna see a massive boost. as for spider man i never said it was gonna be like nothing we have seen before, but it's not your typical big title that comes out every year.

So what about PS4/XBO holiday 2014? I guess what im getting at is GTAV had sold over 20 million on PS4 alone so i dont think "from the makers of GTAV" will sell consoles, it will sell software since the GTA fanbase is already on PS4.

Ya, Spider Man has its unique aspects but it also shares alot of similarities with other open-world action/adventure games like Infamous, Batman Arkham, Assassins Creed, Just Cause, etc.

I just dont see how either of these games are different enough to pull in a large crowd of people who dont already own or arent already interested in PS4. They will sell an assload but i dont see that equating to large YOY holiday gains.

Well you are forgetting that GTAV sold 35-40 million on 360/ps3. i'm sure many of those fans didn't double dip, also RDR2 i's the first true next gen rock star in 5 years, it will sell a shit load of  consoles. aside from that many people loved RDR, it sold like 15 million, so i'm sure it has it fans that will buy consoles for it as well. batman gave a huge boost to ps4 sales in june, and thats wasn't even a ps4 exclusive, so if spider tuns out to be great, expect a much bigger boost, and if it's bundled and has great advertising  it will huge.

GOW 94 on metracritic, so this will probably be a ever green title.

Yeah, Spiderman has a trailer with 30 milion views. Looking at the comments on this video it has an incredibly wide audience reach. I even saw some Japanese comments which never happens on a western game. Spiderman is the most popular superhero globally. There's no contest. And he's more marketable than Batman. People are going to be surprised when it sells 15 mil copies including bundles.

Rockstar Games of the last decade dont seem to move alot of consoles despite selling a ton.

Yes, Batman gave a strong boost which will be over 3 years by the time Spider Man releases. A ton of open-world action/adventure games have released since then so the impact wont be as high.

Every Spiderman fan will be forced to buy a PS4 to play this game. It's literally the definition of a system seller.

I expect Nintendo to sell more in December at least, probably Nov+Dec combined.

Which one of them has the whole Kingdom Hearts series on their system as planned by its creator Tetsuya Nomura? That one.

That's very hard to predict at this point before E3. We don't even know what all the heavy hitters are. But, PS4 is in the lead for now and not slowing down, so it'll probably pull out another win.

Sony, but not by a large margin. Nintendo close second.
