Pretty poor from Super Robot Wars X there, sadly. Series needs a shake-up

Well let's hope its supply or else it's doomed. RolStoppable reply to you makes sense though.

Random but welcome back!

Switch still making more money by far in comparison though. I agree though that switch baseline should be higher bur its not bad by no means. 3ds could be selling double hut imma say nintendo is happier with the switch for obvious reasons

Not only that, but Switch isn't a handheld. It's a hybrid.

Whether Switch is labeled a home console or handheld depends on convenience, be it a pro-Nintendo or an anti-Nintendo argument. What you quoted is an anti-Nintendo argument, so Switch is called a handheld to make its sales seem disappointing. But the reality is that Switch is a hybrid, so while it is a portable console, it also costs far more than a typical handheld. In a launch-aligned comparison, the 30,000 yen Switch did comfortably beat the 25,000 yen 3DS; at the current point in time the 3DS is selling notably better, but it's 30,000 yen Switch vs. 15,000 yen 3DS. Obviously, the price of the system wasn't a barrier for the 3DS at this point in its life anymore while for the Switch it still is. Switch has yet to get into the price range where it gains full access to the handheld market.

It seems to be a case of "We do not care enough." on Sony's part. The hardware boost from Monster Hunter World was underestimated, but at the same time it hasn't been big enough to justify adjustments in the chain of logistics (in Sony's eyes). The normally scheduled shipments were expected to sort out all shortages, but it hasn't happened yet. Since it's looking like a matter of only a few thousand units more that could be sold each week, it's unlikely that Sony will take action and instead stay course of expecting the shortages to eventually resolve themselves over time.

Great replys on both accounts

Yikes, those PS4 sales are terrible. Switch sales are OK, but hopefully the baseline will improve when games like Yokai Watch 4, Super Smash Bros. for Switch and Pokémon release.

All you have to do is look at COMG to see that PS4 will have a number of games released. Baseball, Persona, Gundam Breaker,  Fate, etc. Seriously, stop on by the COMG thread if your argument is that the Switch has a better outlook on games in the near future.

Well, COMG and nothing = the same.

Aokana Four Rhythm Across the Blue made 21 points @ COMG and sales the first day was ... 2140 in Dengeki.

At COMG, 18/20 games are for PS platforms. However, Media Create shows that games from 12/8 to 15/5 are from the Nintendo's platform. Weekly.

Yeah, the thread is nice and so. But not. Best not to use as a parameter

Damn, I remember waiting for these numbers every week back in the DS vs PSP days. Japan used to sell a quarter million consoles per week, maybe more (just based on memory). It is concerning to see such low numbers all around.

Japan

DC+PS2+GBA+GC+XB-~47 million

DS+PSP+360+Wii+PS3=~78 million

3DS+Vita+Wii U+PS4+XBO=~40 million

Gen 8 consoles are still selling and when all is said and done will be very close to 6th gen totals. Its the same worldwide

Worldwide

Gen 6-~290 million

Gen 7-~510 million

Gen 8-~215 million

Overall it seems like gen 7 was a massive increase over the previous generation and gen 8 has returned back to gen 6 levels.

It will be interesting to see how NSW+PS5+XB4 perform, will we see a further drop, new growth or stability?

Market increase ou decrease? That`s the good question.

Right, Nintendo has evergreens. That has nothing to do with their roster of games in the near future so I have zero idea why you brought that up. COMG has to do with preorders for new games, not the 4-5 games that people buy when they get a Switch. For preorders Nintendo has Labo and Snack World.

Whatever the reason is, PS4 sales are simply bas this week.Hope that it either get resolved if its supply related, otherwise ouch.

Switch is also a bit on the dissapointment side.Hoped for a number thats a bit bigger, but its not bad by any means.

As for software, they all seem to be selling well, the usual suspects.Happy for it!Just hoped that XC 2 appeared on the charts again, but it already did extremely well, so im not concerned.

Start quoting people.this way it makes it easier to have conversations.

Like i said, COMG preorders have always favored PS consoles.
