I find it kinda funny that Tropical Freeze and Mario Tennis showed up the day after this discussion

The most surprising thing is Mario Tennis is performing far better than DKCTF given their positions ... (I still think DKCTF will end up with a similar lifetime sales to it's original release)

If the rumors are true about YW4 releasing this summer then that is certainly a more surefire bet than titles like Labo, Mario Tennis or especially Octopath to maintain Switch's baseline despite the fact that the franchise is on a decline ... (will be interesting to see how the game's barrier of entry being a $300 system will interact with the younger demographics of the franchise)

Aces has shown up with 71 days to go, Open on 3DS showed up with only 11 days to go and Ultra Smash on Wii U with 13 days to go.

Tropical Freeze Switch showed up with 21 days to go while Returns 3D did with 12 days to go and Tropical Freeze Wii U with 4 days to go.

Seems like both should do well.

Both are in single digits so far but Aces has the benefit of the doubt since it's over 2 months away from release so the real test is to see how fast Tropical Freeze can get into the double digits and how much it opens at launch ...

Returns 3D finished with 59pts, FW sales of 100k and lifetime sales of 420k.

Tropical Freeze Wii U finished with 24pts, FW sales of 38k and lifetime sales of 160k.

Tropical Freeze Switch is currently at 8pts with 21 days to go. It might not reach Returns 3D sales but im pretty confident that it will perform better than the Wii U version.

Stock issues for PS4 have been mentioned in MC threads for a while now... It's not like there have been huge sales spikes anywhere recently, they should be able to ship consoles as they usually do. Could it be some kind of redesign for the system, being prepared for E3?

I would love a PS4 Super Slim

I already proved that the ps4 was out of stock online at every major retailer last MC thread. Also had someone in Tokyo corroborate that all ps4 were sold out at their Bid Camera and 50-60 Switches were sitting on the back shelf.

What? You wanna tell us, Sony could deliver 20K+ PS4 weekly to Japan last year, but fails at 15K this year? Seems unlikely. Probably Monster Hunter boost is over and we're seeing baseline.

If they did not have interest in ps4 then it wouldn't be sold out at major online JP retailers. Interest is clearly there. Stock, however, is not.

There has to be some significant-ish stock problems at retailers, they just aren't nearly as severe as online stores imply. But like Zorg said, the issues would be beyond pathetic on Sony's part unless retailers mysteriously refuse to store PS4's in high quantities despite the demand.

Yeah, some weeks ago Sony delivered way over 100K for Monster Hunter release and managed in the following weeks an elevated supply. I can see supply shortage in these weeks. But if they kept delivering 30K+ for at least two months, it seems pretty unlikely they can't even supply 15K now. It's either special circumstances or low demand. As everything is not the hottest, I think just low demand.

Update (since apparently people still don't think PS4 is having stock issues despite Famitsu directly mentioning it). The only change to this is that Toys R Us has "Awaiting shipment" status and Amazon is getting PS Pro stock in on April 22.

Are there still people who think a MH game would've saved the Vita? One game can't save a dead system (or in PS4's case, a dead region).

The only country to sell more ps4 than Japan is the USA. Lol ps4 dead in Japan, doomed worldwide.
