Nope scientific fact. Verified by VISA. Mom approved.

Ah well, I guess they could try next time but it sucks for the work the devs behind the remake put in ...

It does suck because I would have bought the shit of out this game if they went the HD sprite route instead of the cheap mobile game look. Luckily I still have access to the original.

Well *how* high end would you have wanted the 3D graphics of the remake to be to get you to buy the game ? Or if you even wanted a 3D remake at all ? (the "cheap" mobile look is exactly how most PS2 or GC games looked like)

I believe going 3D was the wrong design choice.

So PS4 shortage confirmed. Put out some inventory already, sheesh.

They'll be re-targeting their production line for GOW

Will the game even be big enough in Japan to justify doing that?

About ps4 stock, sony has proven that they care jack shit about the japanese market since like 2014 (or they would have supported vita more). So it might be that sony thinks that the effort and money needed to reroute or produce ps4's to japan isn't worth it. Switch is on track to blast past the ps4 there anyway , possibly BEFORE next holiday season, so sony might think that the effort to reroute 5k ps4s per week isn't worth it. Its DEFINETLY not worth stressing the production chain for sure... not for 5k extra wgen its going smoothly everywhere else.

I think you need to review what most mobile games look like and what most SNES games looked like and get back to us.

1. Nice, you're developping games now ? Tell me how it isn't complicated to mash these 2 styles together ? (I admit I was wrong about the engine part)

2. Cuz you know, cash and being famous is what's going to make the dub great ? What matter is the performances not the names nor the cash. Just an example, FE Echoes didn't have many recognizable VA's, nor did they have the production to do so. But what did they end up with ? One of the best english dub you could wish for any game localized from Japan, because it seems their VA's were good at doing their job, how's that ?

 Sounds wise :

3. "And don't knock on the Secret of Mana remake, it is an action RPG with FULL 3D animations too ..."

So does the game in a full rendered 3D space with 2D sprites. Animations work needs to be done in both. The style of gameplay has nothing to do with this.

But I don't need to talk more, TruckOSaurus said it first ...

"Yet the SNES game looks better"

2. How good the voice work is not relevant to the game's production value. It's the exact reason why I am so interested in the VAs themselves because the big shots and experienced will ask for a noticeably bigger cut for their share of the work compared to the nobodies and noobies ...

There's a reason why nearly every western AAA studio seeks out the Troy Bakers and Nolan Norths ... (English voice acting is by far the biggest market out of all of voice acting with Chinese being a distant second in terms of both wealth and population factored in)

I don't know how it goes for Japanese voice acting but English voice acting is VERY prestigious ... (they get paid vastly higher per hour than the writers or the game translators(!) themselves so think thousands of dollars per session, maybe even tens of thousands to a hundred(!) for some)

3. There's arguably more programming work involved with 3D animations/motion captures/chroegraphy compared to 2D animations that can just be drawn ... (heck, outsourcing that work would be very easy and the work can be reused across many different versions of the same works but there's a reason why artists are often mocked as "starving")

I don't think the Switch will be able to hold 40K for much longer. Zelda is over a year old, SMO experienced a harsher fall off and if MK8D starts faltering too then Nintendo is in a tighter rope than before in that region. I don't think many of their upcoming titles in the short term will let the Switch maintain a 40K baseline either judging by the pre-order numbers. Labo is going to be the Switch's next biggest release but even that won't match up to Kirby but their other franchises such as Donkey Kong and Mario Tennis hasn't been relevant in Japan for quite a while ...

Nearly everybody is in deep shit from the game developers to the hardware manufacturers ...

Like people already stated, it will be below 40k next week probably but Labo is coming on 20. April, so most likly will be 40k+ again, DKTF coming next, than Mario Tennis Aces, Splatoon 2 DLC, Octopath Traveler, Yokai Watch 4 (its summer release)...

Looking at the sales of previous God of War games... yeesh. GoW3 got to around 120k. The rest of them might as well not even have been sold in Japan at all. Maybe the new direction will help?

Apparently Famitsu confirmed large-scale shortage for ps4. Another theory I saw from resetera is that before Sony can do an official price cut in Japan all their current retail inventory must be sold. Anyone know if that is true or BS? A Golden Week price cut would be interesting.
